Thanks hon x
I called Debenhams HO in London and spoke to a young man named Alex who was very nice and helpfull. He told me that they did stock Elie New York over two years ago but all he could do is suggest I try searching google.
I think in the mean time I'll just put the jacket on Ebay and offer it world wide, the americans will be bound to know more about its origins than I could possibly find out.

Righty. *thinks*
I listed the jacket on FEE-bay for a starting bis of £1, reserve of £50 (aparently you can't do reserves below £50 anymore) and a big fat this-is-so-cheeky-but-I-hope-it-works Buy it now of £250It'll either work in my benefit by making folk think 'oooh, maybe I'll just bid to about half of that to see where the reserve lies', or it won't work at all. Hey ho, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
AND, what day is it folks?**~~Urban Scavenging Day!~~**
The bins get collected tomorow so I'm heading out shortly to go have a looksee at what is laying unloved and awaiting the dump.
I have £7.95 in the bank, £2.10 in my purse and £4 in the electricity meter. it looks like I'll need to break into emergency credit because I don't recieve my benefits untill Wednesday next week. Tomorow I need to pay £3 to the rent debt, buy a pouch of tobacco which will see me through until Tuesday and then on Saturday I'm going to try walking the 13 miles to my boyfriends house which will save me £2 so that I have that to come home with on Sunday.
I'm sure I had other things to say but can't remember.
Bed at 11pm tonight. Got to save the power!

Good luck with the jacket, sounds a good idea so hope it pays off. Dying to see what happens with the boots... I was down the beach today and spotted a rotting old shoe and immediately thought of your thread!

HA! Thanks skint spice! People often think of me when they see rotting old shoes.... you know, if I wasn't such an odd critter I'd probably take it as insulting. BUT, if there's a way of making money from litterally nothing then hell yeah, I'll give it a try. I DO draw the line at doing the horizontal hoke-koke for 'ginger' bottles, clubcard points or tesco till spits tho!
Hmm, Time for bed, I seem to be loosing my marbles.

I logged on to ebay to see if anything had changed.
As I scrolled down I saw "You have one item to post"
I damn near pooped myself thinking it was the jacket!
No such luck (yet!), the makeup lot sold for £9! :j
Which brings my Electricity savings up to a healthy £33.10This is just what I was needing because I was beginning to feel a bit down.

Good news on selling the make up - hopefully that jacket will go soon xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Well done Joanne! Great News!
Hope a bidding war will start on the white boots soon.
Does the make-up sale mean you won't have to walk to the boyfriend's? A 13 mile walk sounds nice if it's sunny! and you could maybe pick some blackberries or old footwear out of the hedgerows if you're lucky.

I could probably scrape up the busfare to my boyfriends house, but I'm trying to cut corners everywhere. I could walk there in about three hours (bad knees) plus it will likely help me get a bit fitter since I mainly stay indoors whenever possible.
I can imagine his face looking something like thisif I turn up with a black bag of old boots and a purple stained face from munching blackberries! But it might very well happen! :rotfl:
