On my way to the post office to send of a sold scarf, two of my neighbours were standing in the garden and called me over for a gab. They said they were just talking about how they thought I'd moved out because they haven't seen me around in so long. I explained (lightheartedly) that I've just been laying low because everything outdoors seems to require money. I was asked if I was still out of work, which I told them both I was. After some more chat my next door neighbour thrust his hand in my coat pocket and said "Here, take this and don't moan about it!". He gave me a handfull of coins. I told him I was gratefull but didn't need it and he moaned at me untill I shut up.
So I went about going to the post office and on my way I saw a pair of pretty mangled white leather knee high boots lying in the street. On my way back they were still there and yes, me being me, I'll go back for them later tonight. I've no intention what so ever of wearing the things, they're in awfull condition, but bear with me. I sell things like handbags, shoes, scarves and stuff to rather trendy girls on a livejournal. On that community they like up to the minute fashions at a fraction of the cost. On FEE-bay however, there you can sell pretty much anything in pretty much any condition and nine out of ten times someone will buy. Moreso the foot fettishists! Now you're with me, yes? So that's the plan.
Once I was home I took out the coppers from my purse and inspected the change my neighbour had given me. £7.35. Jeeso. I chapped his door and asked him to take it back, I fealt pretty bad about having it. Again he insisted I keep it and use it for whatever I need. He said if the shoe were on the other foot and he was hard up, he knows that he can ask anyone in our close for some help. We're a pretty close little community in our close, so he was dead on with his point. So I've added the £7.35 to my bleach bottles in the hall and I'll be putting everything I collect in thoose to the electricity bill too.
I'll let y'all know how the found boots turn out on FEE-bay

Bless him. That is a really lovely story, and you know that you would do the same for him. In fact, you can make a mental note to do the same for someone one day when you are in a better position.
Good luck with the boots! Watching these posts with interest to get tips on what to pick up in the street :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hey what a lovely neighbour you have. I'm sure it made him happy to help you out too.
And good luck selling the boots. I can't help wondering why they were abandoned and who is hobbling home barefoot.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

HOLY POOP! Looking through my jackets for more things to sell I found a beautiful paisley pattern item which says Elie New York on the tab. I looked high and low for comparason items online to see if it was worth FEE-baying and found a designer in the US called Elie Tahari whos jackets sell for in excess of hundreds! I could very well be jumping the gun here, but I really hope I'm not because the item I have was a specemin. It was made as a showcase piece for Debenhams as part of a possible new line. I'm going to email the Elie Tahari customer services folk and ask if they can confrim wether or not my jacket was made by them. Woo, exciting!Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:

So last night I used Skype to call the american freephone number for Elie Tahari customer services and explained I was trying to find out if the jacket is from their company but never made it to sale in the UK. The girl on the phone could only tell me about items they have for sale online (i guess I called the home shopping number) and she suggested I call their corporate telephone number to find out!
Well, to save me money I'm going to call Debenhams head office in London (since I get 01 and 02 code phonecalls for free) and ask there.
EEEEEEEE!
