Best 7" tablet

I am looking for a 7" tablet - and really wanted an Ipad Mini - but Apple have apparently decided to raise the price of the new model by £50 - which makes it too expensive
So - I am now looking for an Android one
Which is the best to go for
Taking into account price, quality and speed
(I am particularly looking for a fast boot up time !!)

I too am upset by apples price increase. And I'm shocked that the old ipad mini is only £10 cheaper! From the research I've done, the nexus 7 seems to be the best value for money. It's priced at £199 and the specs almost match up with that of the ipad mini so you can't go wrong.0

sorry to jump on but I'm about to go and collect my reserved Samsung Galaxy 2 Tablet 8g for £99 from Asda for my daughter's 14th birthday. She really wants an ipad mini but I won't pay that much especially as she lost her ipod touch last year after only a few weeks! I know absolutely nothing about them and just wanted to know if this was a reasonable choice? will she run out of memory too soon - she doesn't store loads of music but wants a decent choice. Also I think the fact they are all wifi only (at this price range) is a definite disadvantage. I was reading about the T-Mobile £20 for 6 months internet use on another thread which sounds a good idea but how much would it cost for the mifi dongle. Should I wait and see if the ipad mini comes down a lot in price before her birthday in mid-November? Really I think she'll see it as a more convenient alternative to her (old refurbished) laptop but a better screen size than her phone so will probably use it for Facebook, web browsing, youtube etc. Would be grateful for any advice as to where my £99 would be best spent.0

Is it possible to convert a WiFi only tablet to 3g or even 4g by use of a plug in adapter (I realise than USB dongles will not fit) - does anyone make a device with an adapter to fit ?0

I have several different tablets for my work in Software QA... Another vote for Nexus 7.

Yes, but you don't plug it into the tablet itself. You'd plug it into a wall socket and then connect to it over WiFi.

This one doesn't have to stay plugged into the wall; you just charge it like you would a mobile phone. What will your verse be?

Thanks - but it is not exactly what I am looking for and at approx £20 per month - silly money
I was wondering why a simple DONGLE was not available ??0 -
It looks like the Nexus 7 is what I want
PCworld has them at £199 for a 16Gb WiFi model0
