You'll be telling me next that I should never turn my mobile phone off too ??
Sorry - I do - it is on for perhaps 2 minutes an hour (to allow me to check my email)
My tablet will be off for most of the time - only switched on when needed !!
You're just making life difficult for yourself by doing that
I could understand it if you're going to be away from a charger for some time, but ordinarily there's not really any need to do what you're doing! What will your verse be?

Giffgaff mobile sell a monthly goodybag for mobile phones - 500 mins talk, unlimited texts and 1gb of data and they permit you to tether this mobile with another wireless device to provide internet access. If 1gb data would be sufficient for you then this £10 a month deal would be worth thinking aboutJohn0

How do people contact you on your mobile if it's always off apart from you checking your email? Do you turn off your landline phone?
Most email would be set up to push through to your mobile so that you can answer when you choose - immediately or otherwise. My tablet will be off for most of the time - only switched on when needed !!
I can see more of a point to that but to be honest the idea that it's always on for quickness is part of the reason to own a tablet.0 -
I bought the old Nexus 16gbt seven last week from CF Warehouse for £139, and the newer hi res screen model is around the £200 mark. However if i was willing the pay the difference i think the ipad mini is better, but i wasn't prepared to pay. The screen format is better especially if you are into imagery though in terms of resolution there's not much to chose between them.0

You want to get a tablet with 1GB+ of ram and at least a dual-core processor, microSD slot and ,I think, hdmi out so you can view via tv.
Most android stuff is free , unlike apple or blackberry (nice tablets but dying-out).
I used to power my tablets off 'til I saw the light!!0 -
