The words frolm the manger were roughly: We have been tracking you. YOu have been using three stores He named each one), and they were correct, and he said, You have spent over 1,000 pounds worth in a month and the limit is 100. For that reason, we are taking away your right to enter any of our stores. He then handed me a form to sign. I signed it as I was petrified. I have a copy which he handed me. A supervisor was there to sign it as well.
Also waht about the APG'S you have now in your possession? or did they take them from you?

  • That is very extreme. I can't believe they persuaded you to sign a form without giving you a chance to explain or let everything sink in. Hope you're ok though :A

I pleaded with him. I said, can you not just give me a warning? I wont go over 100 again. He just said, no. I've spoken with security at head office. You have been tracked.. bla bla bla. We have been monitoring you.

I asked if it was on CCTV? He said, yes. He then said, you've also been in (and then he named two other stores |which i've used regularly). He then said, don't worry, we will be sharing this information, so don't try to enter any of those stores either, as you will be tresspassing and we will evict you.

Going over the 100.00 limit in one month. He said it was fraud and I was lucky he didn't call police.

Its one of those things. I felt ok at first then I felt bad then I felt ok and i've been up and down all day. My mind has been working over time. I'm sure I'l be ok in a few days. But it was the shock. I felt like a shop lifter. Lots of people were staring, including hte staff who were all looking on.

I feel better having shared it on this board and getting some responses. Thanks.

  • That sounds almost like false imprisonment YQ! Not sure if others on here will agree or not. It would be worth mentioning this to Head Office and saying how bad you felt, that you were made to feel like a criminal etc (lay it on as thick as you like - what have you got to lose).

I pushed my luck today, or so I thought. Found some old Duracell batteries, 2008 date, and they had leaked. Emailed Duracell and said that the Energiser ones that were from the same time were still OK (son seemed to have forgotten about some batteries). Got an email back and they are sending me a voucher! No idea how much for though!

Yes. That's all very well, but I know i've definitely gone over the 100.00 limit in one month. I just thought they wouldn't notice. I guess I could complain to head office that I was shopping for friends and family. I don't know at this point what I will do.

But I know i've broken the rules. Its just wondering what sort of proof they might have/not have.

I got this today in Sainsbobs reduced by 70% from £50 to £15. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Matchbox-Rocky-Robot-Interactive-Truck/dp/B002ECE58U/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top might be store specific but it's a good pressie if you can find one :)

I would say that As bought it on you. Their mess ups are so tempting that it is hard to resist.

Do you have a Ts, Ss, Ms or Ws near you to use as an alternative?

Why did you sign the form? I would have told them where to get off. Fine if they want to ban me, don't think I would have given them permission to do so though.

I much prefer my local Ts to As so don't care if As ban me. However, this is a good heads up for any newbies though. Don't do it if you think it might result in a ban, unless you have somewhere else you can do your shopping.

Is there another Elite near you who can help re. glitches?

Its when he mentioned the word fraud that I got really scared and just signed the form. I didn't want the police to be involved. The manager was just plain horrible.
