    A v W

    1 x Lucozade Sport Orange (4x500ml) £3.00 £2.00

    A v T

    1 x Lucozade Sport Orange (4x500ml) £3.00 £1.92

    1 x Diet Coke (8x330ml) £2.50 £4.20

Tough decision today, do I watch England V Ireland in the RLWC or England v Aus in the autumn international series, both kick off @ 2.30.

Ok 2 tv's it is, think we will beat the Irish by a fair margin, but am not expecting us to beat the Aussies.

I'd like to complain about ASDA, As a taxpayer I'm sick of subsidising them. Any ASDA SA who has kids will automatically get tax credits of about £600 per month as ASDA, who BTW make £ billions, don't pay them enough to get by without having to claim benefits. It's almost your right to take a basket of shopping a year out of their shop without paying for it. At least the APG is a legal way of doing this.

Not getting into an argument with you but I work and would love to have £60 a week after all my bills are paid and no I am not on working tax credits. The only money I have coming in is my monthly wage.

I do agree that the fact that they are not forced to pay a living way is a form of subsidy. But it is nothing compared to the tax breaks that they get. Sadly our taxation system is becoming more and more regressive. But hey ho.. it is the government who allows this to happen not A*da.

I do admit I love their APG! :p

I think your find about 70% of working people in the country are paid tax credits. Its about time the minimum wage is set a lot higher. Once this is set a lot higher (£10) a hour, maybe people who slag off people on job seekers will see that living on £60 a week is a joke. Wages in the UK are very low for most people.

I was once at a posh party many many years ago, loads of people where complaining that they could not keep their gardeners/cleaners. I remained quiet for a while... then asked them how much they paid their gardeners/cleaners. When they all said a fiver, I asked if they felt any man could keep his family working 40 hours and earning this... then I told them why they could not keep a gardener/cleaner and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Strangely I did not get an invite again!! :T:T:T

I hope I'm not missing the point here, but tax credits replaced tax allowances for families and those that qualified before do so now.
It became such a nightmare as an employer, sorting the rebates and allowances it was much easier to administer it this way .
I work for a bank and because of the lack of pay rises in recent years until recently I qualified for tax credits.....and I am not one of the lowest paid employees.

God, that is terrible. There should be a name and shame of companies who receive preferential treatment from the government and then do not pay their staff a living wage.

Right, I am going to try to avoid this subject as it is too deep for me on a weekend
