I was treating a man yesterday with a severe heroin addiction; he was near death.

The amount of patients we see in A&E resus with drug overdoses is truly unremarkable (whether legal or illegal). They arrive in a coma and some even come in with heart attacks (particularly cocaine users). We make them better, they go home and come back again the following week! :mad: Sometimes it does make me wonder whether they truly appreciate the work that all the doctors, nurses, auxillary nurses, porters, lab technicians, radiographers, paramedics etc. do.

Seriously, drugs are not cool.

Strange that they announced the return of £5 off £40 vouchers for those using the APG site in the run up to Christmas. Can't remember the exact dates but they're hardly likely to be encouraging and promoting use of a scheme that they're going to withdraw.

But time will tell I suppose
