They even refused to send me the original postage back saying " have you never made a mistake"-they responded to me pointing out they'd sent me the wrong item by saying " sorry" no offer of anything

Yeah, but by opening an ebay case you will get the original cost of the item and postage back. It doesn't matter what they say. Sounds like they're a very bad seller, although a sorry is more than some sellers give.
  • I only have experience with opening cases against non payers, but for me - When you open a case with someone, it says "Come back in x amount of days (Date) if there has been no response" or something to that effect. Wait until that date and then click it. Then it gets escalated, even if the other person doesn't respond. Then Ebay will email you, telling you what to do next. I wouldn't post it until Ebay tells you to.

Thats the way I thought it worked anyway

Resolved-just to let you know what I did.
I sent another message on the case detailing the aggressive communications , she still didn't reply in the case. I today requested to escalate the case and gave the live chat reference( saying only communicate through the case), and I've immediately been refunded the amount and the postage. I haven't sent it back so I haven't lost out anymore postage.

Well if you want to listen to live chat then why ask here. Live chat will tell you anything, everything and nothing. All of it wrong.

I haven't read the whole of the thread as I am on a mobile.

If you haven't escalated, then the case will time out if you sit here waiting....

If you have escalated, Ebay will tell you to return it. If you fail to do so within the time limit you will lose.

Any carp that live chat will have given will be worthless.

I wasn't told to return it. She didn't respond so I won the case
