  • Hi Domayne  I'm usually more of a lurker than a poster (in between uni and work!!) but had to post about the dog groomers. It REALLY worries me that your dog seemed in actual pain and was a bit off when he came back. My landlady has a shih tzu and a lhasa apso, and although I wouldn't say getting their hair cut is their favourite thing they are always over it by the time their home and I've never seen them upset at the grommers (have taken them myself). I'd really consider finding someone else to cut them....I'd give you our grommers number but we're probs a bit too far away!

You haven't killed my diary, not yet anyway!

Keep it going! Hows the not smoking coming along?

lol NCM...I've subscribed to so many diaries and a few that I posted on around the time I started mine...the people just haven't come back after :o I do tend to get a little long winded at times and waffle on...Perhaps I scare people? :p
Ah well...The none smoking is going good, Today is day 28 and I've smoked one day in those 28 days! :T Last week it was starting to feel easier and I thought I had it down but this week is just as bad as the first week!! I see people smoking and I'm drooling :(
Very much wanting one today but instead I'm sucking one mint after another and giving myself heartburn
You haven't killed my diary either, I'm just very lazy at updating

That doesn't sound right at all with the dog groomers poor wee pup. We have a long-haired collie and groom him ourselves, as long as you do it every day I would have thought he'll be fine till summer.

I know how traumatizing those experiences can be though. We took ours to a vet who handled him completely the wrong way. My doggy was so nervous and the vet was pinning him down and struggling with him until he fell off the table. He was so upset by it.

We quickly got a new vet who handles him much better, reassures him and doesn't fight with him and he is good as gold for her. It's just about finding the right people who can do their job properly.

I know how you feel Lina! I get very lazy updating mine as well sometimes...sometimes I just have nothing to say (shocker right? :p) or nothing is going on with the debt busting, and mostly, I try and keep on topic here otherwise I'll just rant for Britain about other carp in my life :rotfl:
How are you getting along?? *pokes your abandoned diary* :p

    Hi diamond! :hello:
It really worried me as well tbh. Usually he's VERY energetic (for a shih tzu :p) and doesn't want to stop playing all day long, Always bringing you some toy or another to play with but after we left the groomers and for the rest of Saturday he was very quiet, moody and withdrawn....I thought he'd been traumatized for life!
He was fine from Sunday though - back to his usual self and wanting to play and being affectionate! Yesterday we gave him a bath because he had been itching his face since Saturday against anything he could. He even let me brush his hair without trying to eat the brush like he normally does :rotfl:
I went through so many websites looking for a good groomers though and chose this one because it had appeared in magazines, had awards and had lots of good reviews on their website...so it's possible it IS me that's just being over sensitive? but the sounds that were coming from him, I've never heard him like that before and it really made my heart sore for him, you know the thought of anyone hurting your 'baby'? :(

Feeling annoyed today...I opened up an ISA account in November and had set up a standing order for £200 a month...It was supposed to take a payment from my current account yesterday but for some reason, It bounced back! I called them today and apparently because I opened a fixed ISA...I only had 60 days to put whatever money I was going to in it?! So the account has been locked...and I can't open a new one until April
Now I £230 sitting in a fixed ISA for the next 2 years doing nothing and the £200 sitting in a crappy 0.25% interest online saver account until I open another one...I could use it to pay off some more of the credit card but it won't bring my debt free date down so...I'll just hold onto it for now!
I did mention I was crap at anything to do with accounts and interest rates...:rotfl:
Had my Dr's appointment yesterday. He thinks that it's just a swollen gland and gave me a 7 day course of amoxicillin, Listened to my chest/breathing which he said was fine but he's referred me for a chest x-ray and blood tests at the hospital which I will go to on Feb 11th since I'm already off of work that day and will go back and see him on Feb 14th!
    NSD 15/20 today! :T

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Glad your doctor doesn't think it's anything more than a swollen gland Domayne, was wondering if you'd been to see them yet but didn't like to ask :)

P.s. I'll update my diary when I'm in a better mood, hopefully later today. I've had a bad day at work and any update would probably just turn into a rant!

Thanks Lina! Usually I HATE going to the Drs and really put things off until I'm dying :rotfl: I haven't been to this one before either but he was so nice! I felt really comfortable with him and I feel better for going...I'm looking forward to my blood test as well, I haven't had an injection for forever and I do like them! :o

Figured out what that £5 was that I'd missed on my cc! I was confusing the 'interest' with the minimum payment! :o
This is the first time I've looked at the actual statement in...forever though :o the interest was only £30 something then £20 in repayment cover...why do I have repayment cover AND cpp?! :/

Spoke to halifax re my botched ISA account and asked if I can close it as what's the point in having just £230 sitting there for the next 2 years?! The interest will not be worth anything...They said that I can but I have to go in branch to close it so I will do that this weekend and use the £230 to pay on the credit card since it doesn't count in my save 2012 in 2014 challenge anyway since I had it from Dec and if I don't save anything in feb...I can have my debt paid 2 weeks earlier - March 7th! :T
Made a PAD of £5.03 to the cc today - New total is £1495.14

Not a great start to Feb so far!
Went to stay with my friend in Hertfordshire on Friday and I was supposed to be helping her paint my god daughters bedroom but instead we were naughty and got a takeaway and a couple of bottles of wine :o
On Saturday, I went to the bank to close my ISA then we took the kids to see frozen - Spent £13.80 on a ticket and popcorn/drink! When did the cinema get so expensive!?
In the evening, we decided to go to TGI Fridays for dinner and I ended up spending £146
Now I'm completely broke until Friday - Not even 2 pennies to rub together so will now have 4 forced NSD's :rotfl:

  • You are allowed the occasional blow out( s ) as a treat so don't worry about it too much. Besides, you have probably saved more by quitting smoking than you spent this weekend.

Chin up girl! If the issue is a lack of having two pennies to your name so you are able to rub them together, I have one so you only need to find another one! ;-)
