Difficult buyer. Refund?

I haven't read this whole thread.
I think if you have listed the item in the wrong size then she should be entitled to a refund on that basis.
But I don't think p&p is astronomical. The price you see when you bid is the price you should be prepared to pay. If you don't want to pay £5 for postage don't bid.
I just posted a small baby's toy as a present for a friend and second class postage alone cost me £2.25. I've sold things on eBay before and the price of postage, padded envelope and petrol... yes it's often cost more than £5.0 -
Thing is though, a buyer paying £5 for postage expects the seller to have PAID £5 (or thereabouts) for postage. When the parcel comes to them and they can see the seller actually only paid 60% of the postage fee they charged as postage costs then they get, understandably, annoyed.

Why do they? They know the postage cost ie how much its gonna cost them. If you agree something then dispute it after the event you aint got a leg to stand on.0 -

For reasons best known to themselves that's the price they expect to pay for postage, despite it being listed as P&P. They appear to expect the P&P a seller charges to be a true reflection of the postage paid. Not a chance for a seller to make a bit more profit on the listing.
So they will 'happily' pay it but woe betide your stars, as a seller, if you are considered to have made a profit on the P&P!
I posted something once, charged what it cost to post for postage and still got a comment 'seller could have posted it cheaper' - yes I could have - had I packed it poorly.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

It's not about knowing the total cost, it's about buyers expecting sellers to quote accurate postage costs. When they don't many buyers will find the costs were misleadingly presented. You can think it shouldn't matter but clearly it does to many buyers.0 -

It's more basic than that IMO. It's about buyers being honest and recognising that it's P&P not just postage. Also sellers need to keep banging on at buyers to educate them and ram the message home. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

Ahh but this is eBay, a buyers paradise, and they can then rate you low on your postage rating and affect your feedback.

Completely agree. The pnp charge is clear for all to see so if you think it is too much then don't bid. Simple.
There are just a few people who don't agree with this, but try convincing them they are wrong - they won't have it.
The price for postage and packaging is clear BEFORE you purchase... don't purchase and then moan about the price, thats not fair!0 -

Principles and the group hug of having random people agree with you on the Internet is fine, doesn't help a seller keep their account though once the low stars start to hit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
