    Lol sharpy.

Ebay should make it clearer to buyers the costs involved with postage for sellers or remove the option to rate them on the cost of it.

At the moment the seller gets a pretty raw deal from ebay. Buyers know the price of postage when they pay, whether it costs less than that or not should be irrelevant because they agreed to pay it.

I disagree, I don't want ebay playing 'nanny' to me and having to explain to my buyers about how downtrodden and poor I am and how I have to charge postage. Ebay interfere enough, at least let them believe I have some autonomy over my sales.

We sellers , whether private or business are hopefully sensible enough to know what buyers want. Ebay are going the same was as many online traders with pushing inclusive postage as the best option.

As sad as it sounds, any buyer who asks me ANYTHING to do with my item now, thats already on the listing somewhere, goes straight on the blocked list without even getting the courtesy of a response from me...

The ones who ask questions are the ones who cause trouble.

Oh, and call me sexist if you like (I couldn't really care less), but I find that around 90% of the people who leave bad feedback/low stars/cause trouble are women.

If there was a "block women" option, I would use it.

That's a really (text removed from MSE Forum Team) attitude - there is no excuse for rudeness from anyone, either buyer or seller. It might be that a buyer has missed the information on the listing, or needs extra clarification. I cannot believe you'd be so rude as to ignore and block them.

Please let me know your Ebay user name so I can make a note never to buy from you.

It is a terrible attitude. But sadly he isnt wrong. Dont know if i agree about women being the problem, ebay has equal oppotunity idiots in my experience. Stupid questions will be ignored by me too. Remember if you want customer service go to shop. Im an engineer by trade not a pandaring customer services manager.

I've been considering for ages the possibility that smaller sellers and private sellers, particularly those desperately trying to still list at 99p are going to be the ones who lose out as most of the big players are now free postage.

So smaller sellers find themselves selling at a loss (better off throwing unwanted stuff away?) and only the big sellers with their own websites are left?

What happens when they leave too???

You seem determined to assume private sellers are stupid, why would someone sell at a loss and not just give the item away to a charity shop?

Sorry, but that might be your model but I suspect that most sellers here, even the private ones, are a bit more savvy than that!

If eBay are going to be a factor in the cost of postage, a factor that most buyers are not aware of, then I think they have an abligation to their sellers to make buyers aware of why postage costs might be higher than that on the stamp of their parcel.

Or go free (inclusive) post and save the hassle, as I suspect the majority of sellers are likely to do .

Possibly, but I have seen numerous sellers on here state how their items haven't been selling anywhere near as well when they add the postage to the item price and mark as free postage.

I guess it depends on what you're selling.

I haven't put all of mine over to free postage but I think if anything my free postage items are doing better than those with the postage shown as a separate charge. Each time I relist a MVL BIN I am now converting it to free postage.

At the moment there are a few items I don't think would work as free postage, but I will wait and see how it pans out.
