  • Right then - to the problem at hand...

As he's decided yet again to go against older brothers advice & he's passed off the entire V5C just because the buyer asked for it, what should he do to try & put this right, or at least make it better?

All he has is the eBay advert & the chaps eBay username.

Write to them saying it's been bought, it's his first sale (so plead ignorance) & tell them this is the chap that bought it - Mickey Mouse, or at least that's the username??

If that was the case he will have the buyers details.

Failing that write and ask the buyer for his details.

If he's up to no good, he's hardly going to provide this.

    Hi justanothersaver

A seller can request a buyer's contact information - and vice versa.

Try this link to take you straight to the relevant page:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/ebayadvsearch?_sofindtype=9

The seller should be sent the buyer's contact details by email.

When I did this as a buyer a few years ago, I got the seller's address and phone number. (The seller was really shocked when I phoned him with a complaint!) I guess it works the same the other way round.

But note that the buyer will also get an email saying that the seller has requested and been given contact information.

Of course, if the buyer is real shyster, he may have registered fake details with ebay in the first place.
  • What about sending a letter to DVLA saying you're writing in addition to sending off the V5C. In case one is lost in the post, the other should surely make it to them, you're just making double sure.

And 'acting' like everything was sent off 'as normal'?

Via ebay (contact buyer or direct to ebay as edddy above in #45)
