    tried the IE reset?

if you search for ping, there's a lot of other threads detailing the diagnostic process in these situations.

If your laptop is working, it's nothing to do with the router or internet connection

    post a hijackthis log

As scheming gypsy said earlier, try this

start > run > cmd (ok) > ipconfig (enter). Do you get an IP address?

do the start > run > cmd and then ping www.google.co.uk . do you get a reply, a timed out message or a destination unreachable message?

When you press enter after typing ipconfig a black box will pop up.
  • UPDATE

I just searched about the ping & done it on faulty computer. I know have been given these results

pinging google.com with 32 bytes of data
reply from 173.194.34.148: 32 bytes of data time 52 ms TTL 58

(That reply line is four times all the same)
