Clydesdale Bank Application

Just spoken to Clydesdale asking why I hadn't received the paperwork to sign, given that I applied, and was accepted for the account last Thursday and I am using the seven day switching service. I was told that the seven days starts from when the account is open, and that could take two weeks. I suggested she might have incorrect information about the switching service, but was assured she was correct.
Surely this isn't right, is it?
No, it is right. It is seven working days from the date the account is opened.urs sinserly,

Does anyone know whether Clydesdale online banking for Faster Payment is reliable both for in and out ? I mean here the faster payment in and our arrive to destination account within minutes, similar to when we do FPI/FPO from Lloyds Bank to Nationwide.
Thanks0 -
Clydesdale is a proper clearing bank so they it works reliably.
That being said I had problems with them holding up outgoing (smallish) amounts for fraud checks and asking me to call a 0844 number to have them released.
The screen said would it would sent by the end of the next business day if I took no action but I just went to the ATM and paid each manually and then closed the account.

Still not got the paperwork after my account was agreed seven days ago. Rang the bank again today to be told they had been inundated with applications so were a bit behind their normal schedule. My welcome pack has been sent today apparently. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I applied via the phone. Two days later they ask me to bring some form of identification to the closest branch. They also ask me to send three months payslips, bank accounts, and photograph ID.
I have applied several bank AC, CCs in the past and I did not need to send any form of identification.
I am registered in the electoral role, as I often get letters from the council regarding postal voting. I could also see it from my credit report that I am registered on the electoral role.0 -
Strange, I didn't need ID, payslips or anything like that. The account and overdraft were agreed on the phone and all I have to do is sign and return a form which I will hopefully receive tomorrow. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Lol, yesterday I got the welcome pack and had to return several signed documents, plus the last three months' payslips. I remember having to do that sort of thing many, many years ago when opening a new account. I've opened several current accounts in recent years and only Handelsbanken has asked for things like payslips and previous bank statements. I suppose you only have to do it once, so it's no big deal. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I'm assuming the necessary 'security token' to enable higher limits is some sort of card reader like with several other banks? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Watch out for some ridiculously low limits unless you order their security token http://www.cbonline.co.uk/personal/internet-banking/help-and-support/will-this-impact-me0

Well Lucky you then, same as me. I think the best way is bring alll the documents to the closest branch if you have one near you.
It is risky to send the original documents via post even with recorded delivery ....
In my case there is Clydesdale branch in Piccadilly circus in London, so not a big deal for me but it is still annoying as I will need to leave work early in order to arrive there before they close it
I think the banking industry need to change the way they do verification. Nowadays many people receive their pay slips, bank statements, utility bills in electronic form.
The bank industry will need to rely more one electronic verification rather than just asking people to send the hard copies.0
