Help needed. Think I'm being scammed...

As this was Norwich Traffic Control can I assume that this was the Quasar Laser Quest in St Stephens Road Norwich? I used to live across the road.

If the pub car park that you parked in was that of the Trowel & Hammer then they used to have a sign up saying that you could park all day for £4 (quite a bargain if you work in the centre of Norwich) as confirmed by their website http://www.trowelandhammer.co.uk/the-inn/

What makes you think that? It looks perfectly OK to me. I use a Mac so am not troubled by viruses but have double checked on a Windows machine with IE7 & it looks fine.

Yes that was the place. So even though we'll probably miss the deadline for cheaper payment, just sit tight?

OK - and please share this advice with all the other teachers as well.

Wait till you get the notice to keeper through the post and you all need to write down when you received the NtK. (There are strict timescales in force on this).

If any of you would care to take a photo of the entrance and any signs at the entrance and also the sign that was there, please upload to tinypics or similar and then give us the links (minus the http//:) so we can see if they comply with BPA requirements.

Do not contact the pub, PPC or anyone till you get the NtKs. And don't start thinking about making any offer of payment to the pub. They have tried to rob you and you don't pay people who are actively trying to take £00s from you all by setting traps and are probably making more from the scam than the beer.

Make sure your colleagues bookmark this thread and be assured that scammers like this are meat and drink to this forum. :beer:

They advertise parking is free for customers and only £4 for non-customers so even if you hadn't gone into the pub the most that you owe them is £4 not £100.

The fact that you went into the pub as customers but were then refused service means that you while you had kept up your side of the implied contract for parking they were in breach. Perhaps you could pluck a fantasy figure out of the air for damages & serve them with a charge notice for £100?

So...sorry to sound thick but I don't appeal to the parking company until I get the notice to keeper? Can I ask why?

You wait because their NtK may not arrive on time, may miss vital words or may never arrive at all.

They have every opportunity to screw it up twixt windscreen notice and NtK.

Have a read on here using "Out of time" as a search criterian and limit it to the last 3 months or so.

Where a NtD (notice to driver - windscreen ticket) is issued, the NtK must be furnished no sooner than 29 days after the NtD and no later than 56 days after the NtD. (I think).
