As there is little likelihood of an appeal working its usually best to just try anything like bad signage etc. When they reject the appeal then they should give you a popla number. If they do then come back for the best wording, if they don't come back for advice on complaining to BPA etc. Look on other posts for examples of appeal.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I would see if this pub is owned by a brewery or company as most are, then find them and make an official compliant.
dear who ever please investigate a most bizzare incident that happened at your pub the ******** in *****
we were in a group of approximately people, we entered the pub with the intention of taking a meal and enjoying several drinks.
The manager of the pub refused to serve us and kept us talking, when we left we found someone had placed parking charge notices on all of our cars.
Please can you explain why the pub would refuse to serve customers then try to scam us all in the process.
I have considered calling a national newspaper but I thought I should offer you the opportunity to intervene first.
Is this company policy or someone acting outside of it ?
I await your response.Be happy...;)0 -
That's great spacey, thank you. I looked on their website and there's no mention of a brewery, is there any other way to find out? I sound very helpless, sorry!0

BUT, OP, you parked in a private car park belonging to the Pub and then went to the Laser thingy.
How are the Pub Owners to know you were "planning on having a drink there afterwards"?
Did you go and ask permission to park there first? Did you leave a note in the car to say you would be spending money in the Pub later?
I don't think it's unreasonable for the Pub people to feel aggrieved at you taking a space that could better be used by an ACTUAL customer?
Sorry.0 -
Yes I can see that point nonnatus but just as their cameras will show us walking away from the car, it will also show us walking directly into the pub from the laser place. I think the barman thought we'd seen the ticket and were trying to come back to get a quick cheap drink just to be able to say we were customers but we didn't see the ticket until after we tried to buy drinks. The problem is I have absolutely nothing which can prove that.0

It matters not, as they will lose at POPLA, so they will get no pub money, no parking scam money and a bill for £27 + vat.
Just follow the instructions given .Be happy...;)0 -
In the meantime, thinking of the worst case scenario, will I have to pay £100 if the appeal fails?0

No, you will not have to pay a penny. Follow exactly the advice already given, then tell us on here what comes back when your appeal fails, and we will tell you what to do next. This applies for your whole group.Pants0 -
Probably a self ticketing operation, manager will make more with their share off any payment, then he would serving a few drinks!
Seen you walking away and thought bingo quids in, then didn't know what to do when you came back in to buy drinks.
However paying £60 to a PPC isn't going to solve the managers parking problems, even with his kickback, and can not be justified. As they will find out at POPLA!0 -
DST, your earlier question hasn't yet been answered.
"When you say notice to keeper - we already have the ticket, do they then send something else as well?"
You have a notice on your windscreen. Do nothing until you get a notice to keeper through the post. That is to say nothing other than read the threads here and start to understand the issues.
Then once you have NtK come back and the good folk here will help you out. Follow the advice you get and you won't lose the appeal. Even if you did you don't have to pay as the next step would be for them to take you to court.0
