^^In fairness, well done DSG for doing the decent thing.0

Now make sure that McAfee isn't also a trial0

I agree Paddy, I thanked the customer services agent profusely. He was very helpful and his supervisor was too as the agent had to check with him about what to do.
To give them fair credit, they handled it really well and very courteously.0 -
Haha, I am removing McAfee when I get a chance, the old system hog!0

Good result. This could have also been considered a "loss of bargain"One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Reputable suppliers would include trial software and say "Includes Trial/Limited Version of ..." to make it clear.
Full, working software is often included (older versions, student versions etc.)
Glad you got it sorted, but their excuse that you "should have known" is a bit weak.
They might as well have said "It's your own fault, if you'd ever checked out the bad service we give, you'd have expected something like this to happen!"0 -
Reputable suppliers would include trial software and say "Includes Trial/Limited Version of ..." to make it clear. The box itself will say Office 2013 included (and won't have a caveat about being a trial) which IMO is very misleading - looks like Currys have fallen into the trap of copy-pasting the manufacturers description and it's come back to bite them.
All retailers copy & paste the manufacturers description - it's not really their fault (although I appreciate in this case it's come back to bite them).Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -
