Come back in 12 months time and see.

I will bet anyone on here that bitcoin will be worth more then than it is now. In fact, I will say 100% more.

Any takers amongst all you people that think you know better?

Come on, your shameless ramping is getting embarrassing. No one knows what it will be in 12 months time, but the discussion has moved on a bit anyway. The very fact that you believe it will double in value in 12 months is destroying its credibility. That's not what people want in a currency.

Either put up or shut up (just an expression, I don't mean to be rude)

The volatility in price is a function of bitcoin's "newness" and small market value and is to be expected.
The price is based on genuine demand due to scarcity and utility value and that is not going to change.

The price may crash tomorrow, but in 12 months time I'm saying it will be higher than today - based purely on fundamentals. Nothing to do with gambling.

Are you taking the "bet" or not?

Most certainly not, thank you very much. Come back when all major retailers and investment houses take bitcoins. Growth rates like the ones you are suggesting are unsustainable. Yet another internet fad of the likes that spectacularly wiped out the fortunes of many an investor in the early e-commerce days.

But I do wish you well and hope you won't lose too much money/bitcoins in the process.

Oh, and say hello to Azelphur when you bump into him.

Scarcity doesn't really seem to apply here when it is something that isn't a physical item like gold.

Any item that has risen 1900% in a year is bubble territory and is more a case of when it will crash not if.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

You seem to (quite rudely) expect that people must agree with you or shut up. Weird sort of a better world that would be!

Just out of interest, what currency would the bet be in? Which bookie or exchange would people place their bets with? If not a bookie or a change, which other organisation would hold the bet funds for the 12 months? Which jurisdiction would the bets be subject to? How much would you be putting down? How many people are you prepared to bet against? Who would independently determine the outcome of the bet?
