This is a reason why not to use websites such as rated people or trusted traders or similar. These websites are set up and run by parasites who seek to depress the earnings of honest skilled people by offering some kind of skilled tradesmans bizarre. As we all know, all tradesmen are con men and all customers like it nice and cheap. Always hire bona fide companies and go by recommendation.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

SUUNY DAYS BUILDING AND ROOFING ARE A DISGUSTING BUILDING and ROOFING COMPANY IN CAERPHILLY.
My elderly mother called these guys when she had a leaking chimney in Caerphilly off their leaflets that came through the door. The salesman was there for over a hour and kept nagging her for the sale. He filled her with total lies about the chimney could fall down and kill someone. Only when my mum threatened to call police on them he left.
I have contacted the police about this company and reported it and if I ever come into contact with this salesman I will give him a piece of my mind trying to bully my elderly mum.
Stay away from these Builders and Roofers as they not nice people.
Mark Turner.

Rated people (or whoever) require a trader to provide copies of liability insurances as a condition of the site registration
I would suggest you use the site to get these details and take it up with the insurer.
You could claim on your own insurance and have them claim the builders insurance.
Do you have legal cover on your home insurance?baldly going on...0 -

Hmmmmm.... I'm not a conman and I'm not cheap and I have plenty of work.. Oh yes and I'm on my builder .com with 57 feedback at 100% positive. However I DO have a professional limited company established over 15 years.0 -
I was going to keep their leaflet. I just ripped it up. Thanks for the info.0

New house in LUND near Diffield East Yorkshire
We have always wanted to live in the beautiful village of Lund, so we made a day of it and looked at three new houses being built by a local builder in the village; my wife brought a friend who knows the area well as he was a policeman in the east riding for many years. We looked at the houses and retired to the pub in the village for lunch, where we discussed the pros and cons of a possible purchase. We were overheard by a couple of ladies who knew the wife’s friend who advised against any purchase from that builder, they went on to explain the builder had changed his company name from REEF HOMES as there had been a lot of legal action regarding several homes and or buildings he and his previous company had been involved in.
They gave us a name of a couple living in a nearby village and advised we contact them; we did by phone through our friend and his contacts, they gave us a solicitor to contact. They also advised to do some digging with the local planning department before we made up our minds on any of the builders properties. We retired to the restaurant where we were served by a very nice person who overheard our conversation, they (as they served our meal) advised (in a low voice) not to buy from that builder as previous purchasers had complained about extreme shoddy and dangerous workmanship, who then had to resort the legal action, as Mr Walker refused to put the deficits right hiding behind several lawyers and solicitors, changing his Ltd company to dodge his responsibilities.
We were now intrigued and decided to look into this and contact the people advised by my wife’s friend and previous customer.
We phoned the solicitor who gave us a name of a Surveyor who in turn gave us another surveyor who worked with Mr Walker who had legal action taken against him because of the REEF HOMES builder, who we now know definitely as a Mr J Walker. All of the above gave sound advice – “do not buy any house from this builder” - we thanked the people we contacted and accepted their advice.
We still are hoping one day to live in Lund but we will now look to an existing house rather than a new one.
We are not saying not to buy any of these three houses, we are saying we are not and would never take a chance with so much adverse advice for so much money.

A home buyer
Cowboy developers do exist, and this is an unfortunate fact of life. A typical warning sign is if the homes are a cash purchase. Is this the case with these homes?
Another warning sign is if no reputable ten year warranty is being offered. This will be linked in with it being impossible to get a mortgage. Again is that the case here?
Whilst the heads up will be helpful to folks viewing properties in Yorkshire it is a pity you have not given details of what is wrong with these homes. That would have moved your post from the status of hearsay, to that of factual, or technical.
The golden rule when buying any new home is to seek a comprehensive, professional, survey before parting with money. Hopefully this strategy would avoid grief if one were to purchase these homes. Of course this assumes that they are with all the necessary accreditation before even getting to this stage.0
