It's Friday!
Mortgage statement in and last year we paid off about £10,750 :j:T. Plus our overpayment reserve stands at just over £16k :j Actually, it'll be even more now as I op'd by £1200 this month - happy days!
Made just over £4 on Opinio* p*ll this week and about £13 from payout. VO is almost at payout too and CP shouldn't be too long either.
Got my backside in gear and listed some stuff on a fb selling site - been sitting in the spare room for months so will be glad to get rid and already got some people interested in bits and pieces of it
Happy Friday folks :beer:OPs Jan - Dec 2013: 6915/6000 :beer:OPs Jan - Dec 2014: 3900/7500Adding to savings: 550/20000 -

Alas! I thought it was the universe being uncharacteristically helpful as I opened your thread just as I saw the deal, ah well! Hope you find some lovely things anyway (http://www.craftycrocodiles.co.uk have a lot of super cheap things if you like doing crafty things? Or argos clearance section?)RunningGirl wrote: »Thanks Pearla*Merle - unfortunately we don't have one anywhere near us. Sounds like some good deals though!!
Awesome OPing, well done! :Ta penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. Thanks Pearla, will have a look at that site. Have already looked at Argos clearance but didn't find much.
£500 standard OP made at the start of the week :j Waiting on vouchers coming through from VO and CP and I'm less than £10 away from payout on OP :T
Gas bill for last month was slightly higher than December so need to keep an eye on that. Should help that this month is 3 days shorter
Hoping to OP another £100-200 this month but will wait until the end of month and see how things are looking.
Aiming for a weekly shop of under £30 - best get back to Ald* then!
Did anyone see the article on the daily mail's website today about the woman who feeds herself for £1 a day? Not much chicken or fish in the menu plan she showed - plus no way could I get DS to eat even a quarter of what she made!
It's nearly the weekend folks

RG, there's a book by a lady (not sure if it's the same one as the DM article) called How I Lived A Year On Just A Pound A Day, it makes for some very inspiring reading! I found it in the library, I'm quite tempted to get it out again and remind myself of some of her hints & tips

The sun is shining and my washing is hanging out - that makes me very happy! :rotfl:
Another £300 op'd which means total for Feb is £800 :j Would love to do the same next month too - fingers crossed! If I can do that we should dip below £84k next month
. I really need to stop looking at property websites though - have seen a few houses I really like but we're just not in the position to put ours on the market for at least another 12-14 months. I need to learn to be patient - easier said than done
Grocery spends this month have been fairly low - about £150 ish I think but partly because I paid this weeks shop with money I'd made from selling a few things on local f/bk selling sites and a gift card from VO. Need to get a bigger shop next weekend but will do that at Aldi with the £5 off £40 spend voucher.
Less than £2 from pay out on OneP*ll - hoping to reach before end of next week. Need to keep that money to get hair done at start of April (if I can hold out that long!!). Almost at payout on VO again but it's been a pain an screened me out of last 4 surveys
.
Still not bought any clothes - almost 4 months now! Not sure how much longer I can last
but at least have some vouchers sitting waiting so it should be fairly guilt free!
Happy weekend everyone :beer:OPs Jan - Dec 2013: 6915/6000 :beer:OPs Jan - Dec 2014: 3900/7500Adding to savings: 550/20000 -
Another month and another £500 Op'd :j Hoping for another £300 later this month and see if I can find another £50 or so for savings. Mortgage should dip below £80k in June/July :T
Reached payout on OneP*ll end of last week and already back up at £4
Also requested voucher from VO so hoping that comes in next few days.
Gas & elec for Feb was nearly £15 less than January but not paid til this month. Hoping to get March down another £5 or so. Timer for heating now on about 45 mins less per day and hope to get that down another 30 mins or so next week - roll on the lighter nights too
Heading into the city at the weekend to get mother's day presents. Money already set aside for it and I have have some money off vouchers too :money: Will take some of the gift vouchers I have and maybe treat myself - free clothes shopping is the best kind of shopping
Happy hump day :beer:OPs Jan - Dec 2013: 6915/6000 :beer:OPs Jan - Dec 2014: 3900/7500Adding to savings: 550/20000 -
