Tch, I started typing, then somehow touched the wrong key and most of what I'd typed disappeared! Will try again.

TTFTM - So thrilled for you about the job! Well done!!!:j:j:j

Csarina - Glad to hear OH has been able to come home. He will probably get better faster, and you won't have to trek to the hospital to visit him. I hope you can look after him without getting too tired x

redruby - Glad you're getting on ok back at work. It does help to have something else to think about.

Hester - No more lunch duties? Excellent news! :)

(((HUGS))) to all in need of them.

I've had scrambled egg on toast for breakfast and am now on "clear liquids only" for the rest of the day as I'm having a "procedure" done at the hospital tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, but it will soon be over, and hopefully they'll find out why I keep having tummy pain. I thought I might have an ulcer or something, but my stomach's fine so at least that's a good start :)

Today we're going down the town to collect a pale pink Hello Kitty hat for our DGD for her birthday in December. There's a pop-up stall in the shopping centre which had the hats last month when I didn't have the money, but yesterday when I had the money the hats were gone. But the lady on the stall said they do still have them, they've just been packed away at the warehouse to make room for sparkly party accessories, so she said she'd get one out for me and we could collect it today.

What is it about little girls and Hello Kitty? DGD has a Hello Kitty soft toy from the Build-A-Bear shop and it's utterly hideous :D She adores it.

    Good luck for tomorrow xxx

    Morning all,

bleak miserable day here with plenty of rain. Ive got Grandbaby for the day whilst his Mum and Dad have gone to Alton Towers. To be honest, i'd have cancelled but they have gone in the knowledge they are going to get very wet but are making the most of it. I was going to take the little man out for a walk but its too wet and cold for me. Ive fed him, changed him and he is lying in his cot next to me. He's a bit wrapped up but he sleeps better when hes warm and swaddled (just have to be careful I don't overheat the little mite). I do miss having little ones around me (under 10s preferably lol).

I'll bear you in mind :D

Hmmm.... displace spiders, or mooch round car showrooms..... I'd choose displacing spiders, myself.;) Or you could give the Girls a nice brush, or watch a favourite video, or do some crafting, or read a favourite book, or listen to some favourite music, or do a crossword, or give yourself a manicure/pedicure.... I'd choose any/all of the above over mooching round car showrooms.:D
    Easy-peasy! I use a round enamel pie-dish for this.

Melt 4 oz butter in a mixing bowl. Add 4 oz Demerara sugar. Mix. Add enough porridge oats to make a stiff, but not overly dry, mixture, and mix thoroughly.

Now, get 4 ripe bananas and slice them into your pie dish, spreading them out evenly. Sprinkly a fine layer of ground cinnamon over the bananas. Put the oat mix on the top, spreading it out evenly and pushing it down to make a level top.

    Bake at 180 C for 45 minutes.

    Lovely with custard!:o

It keeps in the fridge for several days - for guidance, this would last Mr LW and I for 4 days, as we get 8 helpings out of it.

Excellent news, TTFTM :T:T:T So pleased that the stress is removed; you can just work your remaining time til you finish serene in the knowledge that you won't be on the breadline. :o

OK, I shall now go back and read today's thread; I just wanted to get the replies from yesterday done, as there were several I needed to do.:D

    ETA after reading today's thread....
Aww, they'll look lovely with their fur all nice and short; when Ted stays with us we have to bath him (he has a skin condition requiring regular treatment with special shampoo) and we always strip down to our skivvies to do it.:D

Csarina hoping DH's ligaments heal quickly; must be very frustrating for you both.

Snoozer so sorry to learn about your poodle; it's so awful when they leave us, and clearing out their food cupboard is always difficult.:( I gave all Penny's stuff to a chap who used to sell the Big Issue in the town near where I lived, for his little dog, Marmite.:o

Thanks for crumble receipe sounds loverly :D

Back from vets - shes got more anti inflammatory but shes getting better :D, i made a lovely new friend in a japanese chin called bobby.
You know your getting old when you

    - just a regular flapjack recipe topped with choccy? Can sense the rolled oats & golden syrup escaping from the cupboard in readiness...!

    Recipe here - http://mortgagefreeinthree.com/2013/09/buttery-oaty-bites/

I called it a flapjack because that's what the bottom bit looked like.

be careful what you post

I decided to clean the cooker, its manky on top espesh, as I live in a caravan and space is tight the cooker top gets used as a extention to the worktop, so crumbs ect and coffee as I use barista style real coffee and its messy. was making a bacon buttie in grill first while taking the rings apart, had the water bowl full and a p cleaner in with mr mussle ect. while turning the bacon some dropped on cooker top, so decided to wash of under tap. on goes tap water to hot dropped bacon in cleaner infused water, so just adjusted the tap and washed it again, finished grilling it. was delishous with brown on.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

tomorrow I hope to win the lottery! ;)

    good night all
    regards:beer:

Csarina - Hope DH recovers soon.
RR - You are doing so well, hugs to you.

Just watched GBBO - Well done Frances!

Doesn't seem to have rained for a couple of hours, hope there's nothing wrong!

    Take care. XX
  • Just had a thunderstorm here, didn't last long but there was some pretty hefty rain with it.
Had a naughty spending day today, but it is all for OS stuff ;)
I bought a halogen cooker in Aldi for £19.99 which hopefully will save on having to heat the big oven up, luckily a neighbour saw me with it and dropped it home for me, but I spotted an electric airer like thisW4313_TH_Sunday_31.jpg
for £24.99 it only costs 5p an hour to run so a lot cheaper than a tumble drier. So I got DH to run me down there when he got in from work because there was just no way I could carry that on my scooter without a roof rack:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I really wanted to get a dehumidifier but they had sold out so I will have to keep the window open when using the airer until I can get one.

Glad to hear that Tilly is improving bargain bird give her a gentle hug from me x

Hester, they really must have missed you.

Just been asked to knit some baby stuff for DD's friend's baby the catch is they have to be done by Friday  the good thing is that she is so tiny 3 months old and only 8lbs, but she was only 1lb 9oz born.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
