Tch, I started typing, then somehow touched the wrong key and most of what I'd typed disappeared! Will try again.

TTFTM - So thrilled for you about the job! Well done!!!:j:j:j

Csarina - Glad to hear OH has been able to come home. He will probably get better faster, and you won't have to trek to the hospital to visit him. I hope you can look after him without getting too tired x

redruby - Glad you're getting on ok back at work. It does help to have something else to think about.

Hester - No more lunch duties? Excellent news! :)

(((HUGS))) to all in need of them.

I've had scrambled egg on toast for breakfast and am now on "clear liquids only" for the rest of the day as I'm having a "procedure" done at the hospital tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, but it will soon be over, and hopefully they'll find out why I keep having tummy pain. I thought I might have an ulcer or something, but my stomach's fine so at least that's a good start :)

Today we're going down the town to collect a pale pink Hello Kitty hat for our DGD for her birthday in December. There's a pop-up stall in the shopping centre which had the hats last month when I didn't have the money, but yesterday when I had the money the hats were gone. But the lady on the stall said they do still have them, they've just been packed away at the warehouse to make room for sparkly party accessories, so she said she'd get one out for me and we could collect it today.

What is it about little girls and Hello Kitty? DGD has a Hello Kitty soft toy from the Build-A-Bear shop and it's utterly hideous :D She adores it.
  • Morning all.

Well you've all chatted a lot already! No chance of me remembering what each individual said! Congratulations on the job again TTFTM x

Have cleaned my sink this morning & a wash load is on. Will have to use he tumble dryer again.

Need to call utilities, g to gp to change doctors, clean fish tank, Hoover through...

Making stew for me & dh. Kids having wraps or hot dogs.

I'm still so tired, I could go to sleep.

    Love, hugs & spoons xxxx

    Morning all,

bleak miserable day here with plenty of rain. Ive got Grandbaby for the day whilst his Mum and Dad have gone to Alton Towers. To be honest, i'd have cancelled but they have gone in the knowledge they are going to get very wet but are making the most of it. I was going to take the little man out for a walk but its too wet and cold for me. Ive fed him, changed him and he is lying in his cot next to me. He's a bit wrapped up but he sleeps better when hes warm and swaddled (just have to be careful I don't overheat the little mite). I do miss having little ones around me (under 10s preferably lol).

Just ordered OH's canvas picture of his devil kitten. It was a nightmare trying to get a photo covertly, as we don't have a camera so had to borrow one from work, so had to be very secretive. Hopefully it turns out well!

I have no idea what to make for dinner guys. No idea. We've got potatoes, veggies, quorn fillets, quorn mince, pasta, sauce, just don't know what I fancy!

    Morning all!
Feel like a washed out rag today, head is sore and woozy, AF is visiting with a vengeance. Today I will be doing as little as possible, although will need to go to a shop as DS has scoffed all the bread. I'm fed up with the rain too, feel a bit trapped in the house when its like this!
Oh well, enough moaning, better give myself a shake and move off this couch, have a good day all!
    RIP Iain

Afternoon all, just been for lovely swim in the new pool locally and joined for £20 per month, I only really want to swim as not keen on gym, so didn't think that was too bad. Aiming for at least three times a week, when I can't cycle.

Off for a walk in a bit with a friend along the coast.

Hugs to those who need them and well done to TTFM on your job, hope you get what you want from your redundancy consultation.

Nd I will definitely pick up some Dove Flour, although I'm going to mainly try and manage without bread as well....

It's handy to have in for things like thickening gravy (although I use cornflour for that) or making a white sauce.

Mmmm, they sound scrummy - just a regular flapjack recipe topped with choccy? Can sense the rolled oats & golden syrup escaping from the cupboard in readiness...!

I haven't though.:D Unless you can count cobweb hunting or going to the hospital for a blood test and getting soaking wet in the process.:(
Hmmm.... displace spiders, or mooch round car showrooms..... I'd choose displacing spiders, myself.;) Or you could give the Girls a nice brush, or watch a favourite video, or do some crafting, or read a favourite book, or listen to some favourite music, or do a crossword, or give yourself a manicure/pedicure.... I'd choose any/all of the above over mooching round car showrooms.:D

Lame Wolf - Banana crumble? Interesting, recipe please?
    Easy-peasy! I use a round enamel pie-dish for this.

Melt 4 oz butter in a mixing bowl. Add 4 oz Demerara sugar. Mix. Add enough porridge oats to make a stiff, but not overly dry, mixture, and mix thoroughly.

Now, get 4 ripe bananas and slice them into your pie dish, spreading them out evenly. Sprinkly a fine layer of ground cinnamon over the bananas. Put the oat mix on the top, spreading it out evenly and pushing it down to make a level top.

    Bake at 180 C for 45 minutes.

    Lovely with custard!:o

It keeps in the fridge for several days - for guidance, this would last Mr LW and I for 4 days, as we get 8 helpings out of it.
Thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and .......

    I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :j

Happy doesn't even begin to describe it :D

They are prepared to wait for me to start as I will be allowing one of the directors to prepare for early retirement, so it's just down to my first individual redundancy consultation meeting tomorrow to see when I am due to leave. All stress about that is over and I can say whatever I want :rotfl:
Excellent news, TTFTM :T:T:T So pleased that the stress is removed; you can just work your remaining time til you finish serene in the knowledge that you won't be on the breadline. :o

OK, I shall now go back and read today's thread; I just wanted to get the replies from yesterday done, as there were several I needed to do.:D

    ETA after reading today's thread....

Doggies are off for a haircut today so it will be a busy day as they will need a bath when they get back. There will be much rolling and shaking and then they sleep for hours as they have tired themselves out!
Aww, they'll look lovely with their fur all nice and short; when Ted stays with us we have to bath him (he has a skin condition requiring regular treatment with special shampoo) and we always strip down to our skivvies to do it.:D

Csarina hoping DH's ligaments heal quickly; must be very frustrating for you both.

Snoozer so sorry to learn about your poodle; it's so awful when they leave us, and clearing out their food cupboard is always difficult.:( I gave all Penny's stuff to a chap who used to sell the Big Issue in the town near where I lived, for his little dog, Marmite.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Back from the doggy cut - their breeder does them and has four other westies so it is full on for a couple of hours with lots of fur flying (literally). Dogs exhausted now as i am and hubby!

Feeling really washed out today and not sure why. Ive got so much to do in the house too but little bits add up. Im going to finish off my stash of apples later and youngest son is going to vacuum through for me.

Hugs for a good day x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Molly - Mr B is going to the dog groomers tonight too! OH's friend has just qualified and is setting up her own business, so she's giving him a wash, trim and nail clip for £15 which I think is excellent value for money.

Just ordered some carpet samples, really need to get the hall way sorted out asap. And need to repaint the bathroom, and fix the damage the EX did to the walls and bannister in the hall way. Baby steps, will start with the hall next month I think though.
