A locksmith will want £50 just to come out. Then time and materials on top.
If you can get the lock off the box and take it to a locksmith you'll just pay (£5?) for new lock.
Or even take the whole box off the wall if you can and take that to a locksmith/ironmonger!!0 -
My boyfriend locked himself out of his flat recently. It cost him just over £80 for the locksmith to unlock his door (which did not have half a key stuck in it!). He found the locksmith on yell.com.
I feel like this must be a wind up.0 -
you are on the internet, how do you think people will get a number local to you?
I would persevere trying to open the box and remove the lock
much cheaper for you if you can
locksmiths are not cheap
I opened the box!
I still need your help!
I checked that lock brand and number is JU B 017
Key JU 8017
Where I can find this on internet or shops and how much does it cost? If I can't find it and take to Loksmith are they're going to charge me a lot's?0 -
I still need some advice. I took the cylinder with few small bit out but the main bit of a lock still there. It's the part I put the cylinder into it. Do I need to take it off too?0
-
the lock part is generic
the cylinder is the part that relates to the key
Eg on a Yale lock, this is the part you replace to fix a broken cylinder/key jam etc0 -
I took the photos of the cylinder and the lock but can't understand how to post them on here.0
-
I think you need to go to a locksmith rather than asking on here.0

It is worth looking on eBay - a complete lock and key may only be £3 or £4...0

I phoned my local Locksmith and asked all this - instead he was very rude with me and not explaining anything how suppose to be.
Just possible that he wants paying for his expertise....:rotfl:0
