Firstly the box will open normally if you insert the bit of the broken key you have into the lock holding the other part of the broken key.
Secondly it will be your responsibility to pay for the replacement.
Yes i would probably start with management co to get a replacement, if they are no help try a lock smith or a good ironmongery store.0 -
If you can see the brand name, then you can phone them up directly and ask them for a new key. The key number is usually stamped on the lock barrel just by where the keys go in.
It will def be cheaper than calling the management co.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Management company replied and said that its not their responsibility. For the few next days I could still insert the bit of the broken key into the lock holding other part of the broken key but today the door did not open. Even if I get a replacement key or duplicate but there is still other bit of the broken key that may still block the door from opening?0 -

If you can get it open again remove the lock, take it into a locksmith shop and get a replacement. It is a *lot* easier if you bite the bullet and get it done before you can no longer open the lock at all.0 -

I can see on the top bit of a broken key their brand name - JU and then under 8017 and searched for the record of their company on internet but could not find anything about them at all.0 -
