    NSD here.
Last day of my November GC - declare at £78.54 /£100
We had a waitflower RM that Mr F had fetched home and put in the freezer. The RM was Lamb Rojan Josh and Pilau Rice.
I did some extra rice - it was the last of the Basmati rice in the cupboard so I added some OOD Fragrant Thai Rice. Toasted some naan bread as well.

  • I have spent £12 today and £10 yesterday on bits for the week ahead, including £3 of things to go in a charity cheese and wine hamper I'm making up (still to get the cheese).

I picked up some YS wild mushrooms yesterday, but when I got home I noticed I'd been charged full price for them. I had felt I was treating myself by buying them at the reduced price (same price as normal mushrooms, but a lot fewer mushrooms), and feel I've just wasted money on something frivolous now! If I was going to push the boat out and treat myself to something frivolous, it would not have been on mushrooms...

I'm left with just over £20 for the rest of the month, but want to try and get next weeks food shopping within this budget as well - including the cheese board for my charity raffle prize, so hoping Aldo gets the christmas section out soon!
Keep the packaging with the sticker and your receipt and ask for difference back next time you go to the shop. I have done this a few times.

  • Have manage to do this by eating stuff out of the freezer and walking past the bargains/YS when shopping.

Walking past YS, I can hear the cries. Yes, I made this conscious decision as I realise that I have got in this situation (full freezer, spending too much) because I was not eating the stuff that went into my freezer first and was dazzled by the bargains every time I went shopping. My Bad, a very full freezer and high shopping bills.

Glad to report that as I am making every effort (it's been hard) to eat what I have first and then buy what I need even if it means walking past YS for now.

When I can control my magpie tendencies I can start buying YS but in moderation. Do not want to slip back into my bad habits.
Oh dear! You are just like me. Thinking WW3 is around the corner hubby used to say. It is sooooo hard to resist YS!!:rotfl:

  • Morning All,
Its absolutely freezing up here. Think I will need to make a big pot of Scotch broth soup to warm us all up.

    Meal Plan for this week:
    Monday: HM Chilli and Rice
Tuesday: HM Bacon and bean pasties, chips and coleslaw
Wednesday: Chicken steaks, mash and veg
    Thursday: Pork stirfry and noodles
Friday: So juicy chicken and rice
Saturday: Thai green chicken curry and rice
    Sunday: Cumberland Pie and veg.
Need some basics this week for lunches and wee bits for the meals Way over budget so planning underway for December has begun....Enjoy your Monday:D
  • Been to Mr S & Mr T today to use both my money-off coupons. Even used a calculator to make sure I didn't go too much over the £40 threshold for each place. I spent £43.43 in Mr S. Coupon was for £6 so paid £37.43. Also used some points coupons to nudge up my Nectar balance.
Spent £45.92 in Mr T. Used £5 voucher plus some coupons to reduce that down to £38.87.
Just off to pack it all away. Have mostly meal-planned for the week.
Good luck to everyone about to start December's budget. I'm here until Sunday.
  • Well... been working loads this last few days, meaning i haven't been doing much shopping. Always a good thing! Caught the shops on saturday night afterwork. Popped into Mr AlD1 and spent £13.73 on snacks, fruit, veg and milk. Also spent around £10 on milk/bread/lunch over the last few days. Plus £25 on takeaways! Yikes!!! However, sometimes after doing split shifts i need to as i can't cook at work, i don't want sandwiches and don't have time to go anywhere cheaper for food.

Still well under budget, and payday is thursday/friday (2 jobs) so i'm not worried. I can't believe how well this month has gone shopping wise. Best yet! :D

  • Hi all

Been mental crazy busy the last few weeks so sorry for not being here!

I am declaring myself slightly over this month at £171.20 (over by £16.20) but that's because we ended up finding a little extra from a refund we were owed so treated ourselves to takeaway :)

Next month aiming for £180.00 due to crimbo, will update when thread is open. Well done to everyone for their achievements so far x

    Morning
I have slightly messed myself up!
I did a big shop at Mr As yesterday, I had no kids and I wanted to get stocked up in case the weather gets bad (I'm quite remote). I also have to make 70 cupcakes for a school party this week (must learn to keep my mouth closed!)
So I am going to start December now because all the food I bought yesterday won't be used this week if that makes sense. So I will take yesterdays shop off December. That makes sense in my head!
I'm going to stick to £180 budget, I was a bit under this month but its christmas. Not that I'm doing christmas, my ex has the children on xmas eve and day :( so I'm on my own. He did invite me round of dinner but I felt a bit weird. Then my ex boyfriend asked me out on christmas eve, don't think thats a good idea either! I'm going to try and volunteer somewhere.
Anyway, enough about my crazy life, I'm off to join December x
