Well I try not to use the word dieting as it seems temporary, whereas I am looking to make lifestyle changes I guess.

Yes - I need to walk 4 miles at a steady marching pace to burn this off.
I am planning a little walk/jog this weekend so hopefully can do that. Or at least half.

    Thanks for the positive thinking!

  • I thought I was doing quite well, sticking to a budget of roughly £60 per week. Now I've just noticed that since I started on the 27th October, there seems to be an extra week in November! DH gets paid weekly so I guess it doesn't matter much, but I'm going to try not to go too much over the £240 budget until December, might as well save the extra money for the xmas shop. Technically that's £70 for the next 2 weeks and I'm not sure that's possible, if I can keep it under £100 I will be happy.

BlueMoo your dinner sounds reasonably healthy, as you say you had plenty of broccoli so don't beat yourself up about it!

Can I ask what JP is...? I bet it's obvious and I'm just not seeing it :o

I would have thought JP was jacket potato - that's the abbreviation I use anyway.

Yes - JP = Jacket Potato.

Gayleygoo - is it just you and your OH? If so, £35 sounds perfectly feasible.

On basic pay when I get paid this month so may have to cut the grocery budget a little bit in December but that seems impossible given it's Christmas... hmmm.. will have to have a think.

Has anyone tried Weston Gourmet at all? If so, any feedback would be great.

I spoke to Mr F about your query re black pudding. He agreed that we tend not to eat it in the hot weather. When I think about it - I can get 8 meals out of a 99p black pudding so very :money:

You are so right about not saying diet but life style change. The problem with a diet - you lose the weight - go back to your usual eating habits and regain the weight plus more.
Mr F weighed himself this morning - 13 stone 2lbs so a lot less than his peak of 27 stone. That is what a change of lifestyle/eating habits can do. Mr F was 13 stone 7lbs in January 2013 so is really just maintaining his weight. Some weeks - he weighs 13 stone 4lbs.

Anyway, walked though and bought no food which is good as I only have £57.63 for the next 2 weeks but that will be ok I think, we shall see! Hopefully NSD again tomorrow then Sunday I will include lunch on our budget I think even though its a meal out its still food!
