Think we all have some months when we just spend far too much then feel so guilty about it later. Try not to worry about it too much and hopefully it will be better next month.

A!di shop today came to just £7.43 so really doing well this month. Just trying to use stuff up that we have in already and its working well so far. Fruit & veg needed at the weekend though.

We have had Rich Beef and Ale Casserole from the Hairy bikers diet book for tea with some mash, swapped the parsnip for swede as had some to use up and also added some red pepper and mushrooms. It was delicious and some left for lunch tomorrow. :)

2 different suppers last night. OH had crispy breadcrumb chicken cooked asian style with fresh toms, yellow/orange peppers, red onions, drizzled with soy sauce and sweet chilli served with rice.
I had JP with beans and cheese.
Lunch today is the same as above as made 2 portions of each. OH did not want JP so that's why we are repeating the meal otherwise we would have shared chicken and had JPs for lunch tomorrow.

Don't feel bad shiningfaery, it happens to all of us. The key is not doing it every shop, but only as a once in a while blip.
I manage by then banning myself from the shops for the next week to re-balance the budget. If you desperately need something - loo roll/milk, then go with the exact cash to the local newsagents so you aren't tmepted by the big supermarket. Most of the time though, you will not need to go to the shop - you can manage by using the freezer/store cupboard.

Florenceem - Sorry if this comes off the wrong way, but genuinely curious - black pudding seems to feature a lot in your meals. Is it your favourite meat? Is it the cost?
It's fascinating to me as I would only ever associate black pudding with a fried breakfast - never for supper.
We like black pudding. If I have a started pack - will use it in a BPITH and then as part of the evening meal. I get it from the 99p shop. Sometimes we don't have black pudding for ages - especially in the warm weather - more of a comfort food - I suppose.

Picked up some reduced price veggies in Morros today. I did a big shop there - £34+ but about £12 was for Ch word.
Dinner was roast potatoes, roast parsnip, cabbage, brussell sprouts, leek, carrot, pastie + gravy.

Why not carry cash, its easy enough to go to a cash point and take out the grocery budget, put it in a purse, pot whatever, use that for groceries, use the card for anything else.

Must admit though we both use CC as I get cash back on everything I buy :D

I'll have to look that up as love the sound of it and like HB's recipes though are sometimes a bit of a fiddle :)

I went to the butcher's today and it wasn't too bad. Spent £53.33 but that comes out of my bulk-buy fund. Nothing else spent today.

I'll definitely be having another NSD today as DH has the car again and I live too far from any shops to walk, LOL! Also have my hairdresser coming this morning to cut my hair in a couple of hours. Must go and shower and wash my hair before she gets here.
