Just a small spend of £12.37 today in Mr A*di, local butchers and Home Bags. Really pleased - bought 8 batteries as none of our torches work!! Also St**rdrops because use loads for Christmas/ winter deep clean.
Hopefully will manage to end of month with the money that is left as enough meals in now and we are away for a couple of days this weekend.

    Sig updated.

  • Spent more money in sainsbobs yesterday £9.50 on eggs, lasagne sheets, smoothies & soup. Have an infection from my wisdom tooth so dentist has told me to go on a liquid only diet until the swelling goes down. I have soup in the freezer but have to wait for it to defrost before I can eat it and not feeling up to making anything that can't be nuked in the microwave. So hungry though. On the upside I will probably shed a few pounds.

£2.89 spent in tesco yesterday which included some nice finest sweet chilli sausages reduced to 80p.

Have a tesco shop coming this evening so will update when it arrives. I have quite a lot in so shouldn't need to do a big shop for a long time. I do need to buy nappies and a sack of dog food next week which will be £22 of the budget gone. That's fine if I curb my spending!

I took pork medallions out of the freezer last night. We're having bbq pork, cheesy mash and veg for dinner.

NSD so far, but need to go and get eggs for HM egg fried rice tonight.
I seem to have used 24 eggs in about a week!

HM burgers (some flavoured with garlic, some plain) with fresh mozzarella, oven chips and salad with peppers/toms/raw onions.

Very healthy lunch today - only eaten half as well - just can't abide salad by itself even though I had with 2 hard-boiled eggs. Uhh, trying so hard to try to lose weight, but as I was so hungry I had a choccie bar. :( I know it's my fault too.

Just despise salad unless I can have it with something that really overpowers it (like spag bol/curry etc)

Oooh I feel you there... I've been trying to lose weight this year too and salad appears to be the way to go. But.... I eat it with sliced ham and creamy (ie not low fat) coleslaw, otherwise it's just naff in my eyes. But then as someone pointed out - salad... with a dollop of creamy mayo - whoops. So I don't bother with the salad. I moved onto soups for a while (still low carb and can be filling if you get the right one) but after 2 weeks of various soups for lunch I went off them too :o

Yep, couldn't eat the same things all the time. Apparently Jennifer Aniston (of Friends) ate the same Cobb Salad for lunch for 10years!
I find soup so unfilling, all I want is a nice Jacket Potato to go with it!! Which defeats the object.
I actually never used to eat lunch apart from a few crackers, so have in recent months been trying to switch to a more healthy 3 small meals, rather than just one MAHOOSIVE one for supper.
It has worked quite well in that I am having lunch now and cutting down my supper portions.

Maybe I could try a noodle soup?

Jacket Spuds are a fav of mine, but I like cheese on them so that's not too good for my waistline, lol..

I was going to try making a chicken noodle soup one weekend (but it's finding the time at the moment) - I've been saving my chicken bones from roasts in the freezer and was planning to make up some stock, wizz some Mr T Value sweetcorn in a blender to break them a bit and then add the swewetcorn and some unflavoured Mr T value 'super noodles' to the stock to make a more filling soup... I just need to remember not to eat it every day otherwise I'll get bored of that too :o

£9.40 spend to confess. Some bargains in B and M, and juice and biscuits in Lidl. Hoping not to need anything else now til I am in work on Friday.

Done a biggish shop on Sunday to use up my money off coupons and voulchers in Tescimos- managed to get down my shopping from £42 to £30 with it and bagged 248 extra points on things that I buy anyway. I always keep my T points and use it once a year to get away to 4 star coastal hotel for a couple nights - FREE :p. Just back from the end of September, had a brilliant time getting luxurised :D.

I have managed to pick up some turkey mince reduced but not sure if I can use it as as a standard beef mince (in spag bol, chilli etc) or should I mix it half/half with beef mince? Is the taste very different from the beef mince? Thanks for any answers.
