Spend of £1 on milk. In Mr A around reduction time - nothing!
We had HM fish pie and baked beans for dinner. I made 2 large dishes of fish pie. Contents - 1 pack of white fillets and some lurking Mr T reduced price sea food mix + 3 hard boiled eggs. I had a jar of anchovies in the fridge so a couple of those went in plus white sauce, peas + sweetcorn. It was so yummy.

Phew....just caught up with the last 12 pages:eek:
I have gone over budget with 9 days to go but only have a very small list for Friday ute have an £8 off £40 voucher to use in Mr T and will earn a £5 off £40 voucher for next week, this should be my last shop of the month. DH is off work this weekend so I need to keep him busy as when he gets bored he wants to go to mr t. I also have an £8 off voucher for next week so I am hoping I can use both the £5 and the £8 vouchers together next week. I also have £21 of club card vouchers to use and have already doubled up some for toys and clothes bit can't think of what else to use the on but food.
As my list is small I will make up the £40 getting some bits in for Christmas; either nibbles or some chocolates for gifts. Ooh I need toaster bags too.
In other news I have just driven past a house and seen my first :xmastree:of the seaon:eek:Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

NSD again. Used up the rest of the chicken from Sunday roast today. I took it all off the carcass and then sweated some onions, cauliflower and a leek off added the chicken and a thick cheese sauce and made 5 large pasties and 2 individual pies. The carcass got frozen for stock at a later date.
So the chicken has done 3 x roast dinners 2 x sandwiches and 7 individual pies or pasties plus some stock - not bad for a small £4 chicken and it would have gone further if I had of made smaller pasties. We had a pastie each for tea with some roast potatoes and sweet corn. Forgot to take a photo until was almost finished eating. Will have to remember when uses any from the freezer.
Your fish pie looks very tasty Florenceem - how many meals would you get out of the one in the picture as curious or nosy take your pick !!MARCH £62.38/2500 -

Pleased with myself today. Didnt go to tesco or buy anything, so i have saved £ and lbs0 -
The dish in the photo provided 6 large helpings. If eating with lots of veggies - could have stretched it to 8 helpings. I made - 12 helpings - cost per helping approx 65p. So with beans - dinner was 78p - more than my usual meal cost but fish is an expensive meal.
I balance it out - cost of tomorrow's dinner will be less - we are having LO roast potatoes - fried off + black pudding + LO SS mushrooms + poached eggs. May even splash out - have another 25p tin of baked beans.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Sunday and Monday were NSD - spent £2 today on fruit for snacks and mushrooms for tonight's dinner. Made a mushroom risotto - it was for four servings, but it was so nice the two of us scoffed the lot!

Went to Mr T's today to do a bit christmas toy shopping, ended up getting a bit food too. However i'm only counting CASH spent as i had tesco vouchers to use up, separate from my grocery budget, so i spent £7.03p cash. Got basics like milk, bread, eggs, pepsi max (addict), toilet rolls and fruit.
Fingers crossed i can have a NSD tomorrow

shiningfaery wrote: »But back to the GC. Do you find it easier to freeze the ingredients for meals ie mince or chicken that make up the meals or to make the meals then freeze them? space is a bit of an issue for me I only have 4 drawers in my freezer.
I have tried both. I now make up all the meals before freezing as it doesn't dry out so much, but do dry-fry some mince and loose freeze before polybagging as it comes in sooo useful for quick shepherds pie or meatloaf.zafiro1984 wrote: »The £200 is just for the two of us but it has to include everything, food, drink, treats from the 24th - 26th inclusive. How to others plan for Christmas?
I will order a fresh turkey breast from butchers and get delivered and buy fruit and veg, bread and general stuff on the 19th to avoid the crush. I will get a few frozen snack bits, a frozen luxury pud of some kind, cheese crackers and chocs end of this month. Drinks I'll buy in the first 2 weeks of December as hope will be some discounts about :rotfl:nsd here today.made a big batch of greek lamb pie and broccoli soup (all in the freezer now)
Pie sounds interesting - do you have a recipe please ?
Spend today of 66p in Mr A. Know it sounds silly but DH went in to buy an LED torch that he wanted - someone told him they were reduced - and bought 2 rice pots for his lunch packs.
Can't believe it's 13th already - have a good Wednesday all
