    Hi!

Managed to hit As*a and Sainsbugs just after they reduced the food (around 7.30-8:00pm) and managed to get a great haul mixed with the offers they had on. For £11.83 I got plenty of meat and fruit/ snacks. Some of the better bargains included 2x flavoured salmon fillets normally £2.50- 36p each :T, 2x fancy sausages (400g) normally £3- 69p each,2x posh sanwiched normally £2.25- 13p each- done me and DD for lunch today. Also some of Sainsbug' reduced Halloween cakebars (RRP £1.09- now 30p- NATIONWIDE)- 5 in total:o- found the way into my basket . They also have cheesy wotsits 'zombie fingers' for 51p/ 6 bag - reduced Halloween stock, along the 10p puppkins.
To balance it out, also managed to pick up a bag of organic apples for 32p- normally £2.00.
Managed to get more bargains as well, I NEVER pay full price for bread- the well know brand almost always reduced to from £1.35 to 36p each night in Sainsbugs along they own bakery items (cinammon & raising bagels (4 pack) 24p- nom-nom)

I find this is the way that works for me on streching the grocery badget and still eat a very varied and nice meals.
TBH if I didn't get this bargains I would struggle and there are times when there is absolutely nothing- that's when I start to panic :rotfl:.

:TGood luck everybody- keep those pennies streching!;)

Just picked up some fresh bits to last the week. My freezer is full to burst with home made ready meals so going to make my way through that this week.

I also got gifted my mums old slow cooker as my dad gave her a new one for her birthday (he's such a romantic - she got a slow cooker and a recipe for steak and kidney pudding! Lol)

Going to hit the slow cooker threads as I'm not too sure where to start!

I also use the slow cooker to make rice pudding- I made lots yesterday, just bang in everything and can forget about it for a few hours without have to wory about burning it. ;)

I'm away to eat my 13p brie + cranberry sandwich now...

Yes I would spread it out like that.
Thanks meg72. Will add to my signature once I know exactly how much it is (and reduce the next few months budget by the same amount at the start of each month)

Hi all - £43.00 for me for Friday's shop, after a bit of a result because I initially found my Mr T's shop came to £52.39! Called them as none of the discount vouchers I had applied had worked and the free cereal had been charged for too. I also informed them that because I only put the amount I need into that account, and a couple of pounds extra to be on the safe side that it had taken me into my overdraft. So they have sent me £20.00 of evouchers for my next shop! Called the bank and explained and they agreed they wouldn't charge - result! Not sure when I will use it yet, be sensible and take it off of Decembers shopping or spoil ourselves and get some luxuries we wouldn't otherwise get :)

Freezers are so full at the moment I couldn't do all the batch cooking I wanted yesterday on my day off but still managed Spicy Parsnip and Carrot Soup (5 portions for lunches), Lentil and Butterbean Casserole (6 portions), Apple and Cinnamon Cake from the leftover sad looking apples (6 portions) and Spag Bol and Meatballs for the OH. Soup currently in the fridge and lentil casserole the same as I literally can't get it in the freezer! Oops. Will rearrange half way through the week.

Have a good week everyone x

Where did you buy your meat from?
My daughter works for a catering company and every so often they get offered good deals and it's one of those - wish I could buy at that price all the time!

There is a good facebook page called 'Slow cooker Saddos' that has lots of recipes, they cover most things soups, main meals, omelette type and sweet things. Well worth a quick look imo.

Went into green grocers today and got a few parsnips(0.62p) plus a 25 kg sack of spuds (£8.99) they did have some at £6.99 but when looked at the bags that were open the Scottish Wilja looked a lot better. Should last a while although will give daughter quite a few at the weekend.

Managed to get 4 portions of the lo bolognaise sauce in freezer and we are having the other two with jkt potato for lunch.
