Here we go again - still sticking at £250 for two adults and small dog and including everything but alcohol. Expect I will struggle again too.....but am beginning to understand more and more where the money goes ;-)

Even coming in at around £250 means my store cupboards and freezer stocks are diminishing

    Hi Folks

I was away last month due to family illness but I'm back again and trying to get back on track. Please put me down for €600 for November!

DH and DD1 had to do shopping last weekend due to me being away and I had to laugh at DD's description of guiding her dad around the supermarket and pointing out yellow stickers and prices to him! Some of it worked but he did revert to branded goods despite her best efforts! Our cupboards are full of real Weetabix, Kerrygold butter and expensive bread!! Lol!! He was so full of himself that the shopping was done so i didn't have the heart to tell him that most of what we are eating is from the mega shop I did before I went away!
  • Hello,

I start my November challenge tomorrow and it can't come soon enough :(
I'm out of teabags and butter and have only a slither of cheese left. The only fruit left is dried and the only veg that isn't frozen is carrots.
I can see me making a large dent in to my budget tomorrow:o Then again I still have plenty of meat in so maybe it won't be too bad.

Today I've defrosted the freezer (I do love hammering the large chunks of ice!) and I've taken out food for dinner tonight (jambalaya) which will also do lunch tomorrow. I've also taken out mince and will do a chilli in the slow cooker overnight tonight so that will be dinner for tomorrow done.

I'm going to record another spend tonight as we need a few minor bits and pieces, but that'll hold me over until Sunday when I do the shopping for the week.

Next week my parents are visiting and they're bringing us meat for the freezer which is why I'm defrosting it today. Freezer 1 is full so we are going to be having all our meals from there for the next week or so and then fill up freezer 2 with yummy free meat!

DH got paid today (hurray!) so we went into town and stocked up on frozen stuff, pet food and cupboard stuff. Frighteningly large total of 144.08! £43.69 in Iceland (chest freezer is now almost full), £58.06 in Asda (cupboard and fridge are stuffed to the gunwales), and £42.33 in Pets at Home (and we have enough pet food to last until the end of the month). We will only need to pick up fresh veg and dairy in the next four weeks (hopefully!)

ETA - The PAH total included a mega bag of litter, as well as bird supplies.
