Our local paper was slating them a bit this week for punctuality. But charter were even worse. I have flown a lot out of Glasgow and been fine most of the time.My son flew to Sanford and was ok. It said the problems were technical in the paper and they dont have any back up planes whick causes a big problem if anything goes wrong.
  • I flew to Barcelona with globespan - eventually- in june. We were originally booked on the 9am flight from glasgow, about 2 weeks before we were due to go this flight was cancelled and we were moved to the 9pm flight. not ideal when only going for 4 nights anyway. We discovered there were places available on the edinburgh flight the same day at 9am. After much trying (letter, email and phonecall) globespan eventually agreed to transfer us to this flight, which due to problem with the door didn't take off until 5pm. delayed on way home by 1hr 30mins. As a way of compensation we were given a £4 meal voucher at airport (never been to such an expensive weatherspoons) and a free dring on the plane - though those who required a mixer had to pay for this.

Got back from Toronto on Saturday. We put all our faith in the CAA and assumed they would have grounded the flights if there were safety issues, and that the problems must be of an administrative nature.

No complaints at all about Globalspan. Flights on time (in fact two yours early on return!); crew polite and helpful; food good; leg room fine; even the inflight films were fairly recent.

Ok, you can tell it's a budget flight - the inflight mags were tatty and the seat pockets stuffed with the odd sweet wrapper - but it is, as it says, a "budget" airline...which is what I paid for.
