Has anyone had any bad experiences with this company ??
Ihave booked with them to fly to Hamilton, Ontario,Canada in august, and have read many items regarding their poor service, ie late departures on a regular basis, and when i say late departures i mean 12 hours plus, regularly. I have got this information from flightstats.com, plus other web sites, so i would love to know if any one else has suffered any inconveniences so far.
As you can imagine, i am a little concerned as to what to expect come the day of my holiday??
Thanks all
Bob

I know someone who used them Glasgow-Sanford-Glasgow.
Twice.
On both occassions the return leg was cancelled. Once by a day and another time by 3 daysWe all evolve - get on with it0 -
A friend of mine who flys regularly to Orlando have used them several times. Her disabled parents have also.
She has never had any negative comments about them, although she does always say that 'You Get what you pay for....'
She flies from Glasgow. "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -
Think about the wording of the question.
Do you really WANT to hear about bad experiences?
Why dont you ask about GOOD experiences.
Many ,many people have flown Globespan and were delighted with the service and value for money, myself included
That way you can build up a positive picture in your mind and actually look forward to the flight.instead of dreading it.0 -
I think their main problem is lack of aeroplanes!
They seem to have one plane gping out of Liverpool to Canada and one going to New York. If anything happens to either plane whether it be a delay at the airport or routine maintenance any deviation from their schedules means delays - long delays.
This is why I have decided not to use them to go to New York in November.
I might be paying slightly more by using either BA, Delta or Continental but IMO these companies have a greater chance of obtaining another airplane should anything happen to the one I am due to use.0 -
Unfortunately your logic doesnt stand up to the test ejones999
Although globespan isnt compared below, BA dont measure up too well, compared to the low costs for reliability

Hmm interesting what does PUNCTUALITY actually mean?
Does it mean flights taken off, or does it mean all flights in its schedule (including cancelled flights). It can mean anything they want it to mean.
It's Ryanair advertising on their website. They would hardly put themselves at the bottom of their own ads would they.
If you ask someone in a wheelchair for example would they have the same support for Ryanair?
I'm sure that BA would be in a better position to get me to NY if a plane developed a mechanical problem before take off rather than Globespan.0 -
FGS have a no-substitute policy, meaning that if one of their aircraft develops a technical fault, the flight will be delayed until it is fixed. They only have (about) 4 longhaul aeroplanes, 2 of which are semi-permanently leased to Air India based in Mumbai, so don't expect to be rescued if something goes wrong.
By their very nature, larger airlines are far more able to 'find' a replacement aircraft to keep the show on the road.
I also agree with ejones999 that the term 'punctuality' is misleading because some airlines determine 'on time' to mean within 3 minutes, others within 15 minutes so Ryanair's percentages are pretty meaningless. I also don't think it's fair to blame BA for the BAA's appauling underinvestment of their home base, Heathrow.0 -
I have just used FGS for my recent trip to New York. I suffered a 9 hr delay in total, due to delay in take off from JFK, smaller plane being used and a fuel stop needed in Iceland  but TBH it wouldn't stop me using them again! No matter what airline you use you can suffer delays.
The flight to NY was fab, plane was a 757 (i think) leg room was great, plane seemed really fresh and the service was A+ was delighted (especially as i had a few issues with my direct flight being change to a stop over in Ireland, not being offered upgrade to premium, travelling campanions seats being changed numerous times!) We even arrive in NY way ahead of schedule :T
Anywhoo thought happy days, bargain price, service super.
So return flight - people we know where due to travel home the night before however their flight was cancelled and they where told they would not get home for anohther 2 days  . So we tried to find out if our flight was ok - no info could be found anywhere, so we assumed all was ok! Get to airport, check in everything looking great (we were asked if we would giver up our seats due to the cancelled flight the night before - we didn't feet were too sore after all the shopping :rotfl: )
Due to fly at 8pm, however a flight to South America was flying from our gate at 7.45 - hmm seemed a bit sus but we went with it. NOONE in JFK helps ya - their service is terrible!! 8pm passes no news - screens not updated at all. In the end someone who was travelling on the incomming flight got word to a friend who was on the outbound flight (with me??) advised they where 3hrs delayed take off, so natualy we would be too! But because FGS used a smaller plane 737 (the type you fly to spain on!) it had to stop in Iceland on the way to JFK as well at the way back to UK adding more time to the delay! The staff on this flight were no where near the calibre of the staff on the outbound flight!
So to make a long story short :rotfl: i was supposed to land at 8.45 but did not get to my house (about 20 mins away) until 5.30pm
Don't let that put you off you might have a fab experience, as i said earlier, i would use them again (i have yet to put in my formal complaint mind!)
Hope you have a great holiday0 -
Booked for August, family of four return £2392
Interestingly this was cheaper through a travel agent than directly on their website, and I was not hit with the 2% credit card surcharge.
Checked baa.com Arrivals and they were only 19mins delayed on arrival this morning, fingers crossed
