The problems I've been having have been trying to access the First Direct banking website have been entirely through their own Internet Banking Plus - not through any saved link.

That way ought to be pretty much infallible, you'd have thought.

And on each occasion, I phoned the call centre to check the position, and it was confirmed that the site was down.

There's clearly a problem here, and I suspect that FD aren't being entirely honest about what's causing it.
  • Got the following message when I logged in today and the layout also looked different, so maybe that was what was causing problems for some people trying to log on.

    "Important updates

Over the next few months we'll be making some changes to the way you log on to Internet Banking. We'll let you know about the changes as and when they happen.

Today you will notice some small changes to your log on page.

One of the changes you'll see is that you can now save your username by selecting 'Remember my username'."

Down again today - at least an hour and a half so far this morning, and they say they have no idea when it will be back. Customers' fault, apparently, for making too many ISA transfers.

They have never been that wonderful in my experience in the first place.

Ironically, the Santander banking website is rock solid (despite their reputation) AND, unlike First Direct, they're paying me 3% interest!

How ironic that Santander website and ATM's are now down.

Any more predictions ( i.e who won't win the World Cup)?.:D
