Out - milk, bread rolls, cooked turkey pieces, peas and mint to make soup for lunch, frozen berries and currants
I have about 18 blackcurrant bushes, which, as you can imagine yield a very large amount of blackcurrants. After making jam, jelly etc I'm usually at a loss of what to do with them and they just end up in the freezer. They take a large amount of sugar to make pies crumbles etc and we're trying to cut down on the sugar so I have been known to throw them away after a couple of years. This year is going to be different - I'm mixing them in with all the other berries I grow, raspberries, white currants, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and loganberries. They are going in with them at a slightly higher proportion to the others just to be used up and so far nobody has noticed "the dreaded blackcurrants"2 -
