Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two

Welcome nmlc from a newbie poster! Your weight loss is amazing - well done.
I had a change of meal plan last night from making chicken soup to a quick and easy hot and chicken strips, potato waffle with salad and tinned sweetcorn. All from the freezer, fridge and cupboard. Chicken I took out of the freezer is in the fridge and my daughter will make chicken korma tonight and I will make chicken madras.
Had a freezer fail though last night trying to squeeze some soup in too hard and the plastic pot popped, cracked and leaked all over everything else. Ooops. Cue 30 minutes of cleaning lol...So nothing went in to the freezer in the end.
DS school is closed today for a snow day - it does get very heavy and drifty up in the hills there. DD is still not 100% so I kept her off again too. Which means I don't have to go out in the snow and am having another fluffy pyjama and stove on day with them both. Although they have enjoyed building a snowman this morning in the fair bit of snow in the garden / driveway.
OH will be driving home from London area today after his week away - he works from home normally but has to do 6 days in the office a month. He says the roads are currently fine so fingers crossed. And added bonus is he will stop at Lidl and pick up some shopping bits as out of fresh salad, ham and loo rolls so that will save me needing to go out for shopping this weekend. And he is SO much better at not just buying 'bargains' than I am.
Think we will be indulging in bacon and brie toasties for dinner today - well the kids don't like brie but there's plenty of other cheese in the fridge too!!
Have a lovely nom nom day all x0 -
Lost a long post last night.
Yesterday - lunch - leftovers from Wednesday night
Dinner - curry made wed night using bendy veg, OOD coconut milk powder and 1/3 open Thai red curry paste and 2 chicken breasts from freezer. 1/2 tin OOD peaches w homemade Custard. Yum.
Today - Breakfast - last of peaches with porridge
Lunch - last of one of the Christmas cheeses that is about to walk on its own.
Dinner - rubber chicken bits from freeze with odds and sods of fresh bendy veg and mostly empty frozen packs.
Also taken out an old pack of Turkey mince that I will put in the slow cooker for chilli. It will add to freezer stash initially but will put it higher up the scale of ready and easy to eat:rotfl:
About to brave the cold and pop out. Have updated meal plans and shopping list. Need to get some UHT milk just in case. I got snow tyres today but if it snows again and they plough the school like they did in 2010 and leave the snow blocking our cul de sac, we could be stuck for weeks!):eek:Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Managed to use a few things up today -
From the freezer, asparagus trimmings made into soup and one bag of gooseberries cooked and waiting to become a fool
Using up the bendy veg to make a pasta sauce which will be served with fancy pasta that was part of a gift hamper.
Gammon out of the freezer defrosting for Sunday.
Still haven't been brave enough to audit the freezer in the kitchenweaving through the chaos...0 -

Had a visit from my daughter today who has taken some of these items away. There are five in her family so they will soon get used up.
Also gave her all of my bath bombs, some from Christmas and some from before which will otherwise just sit in a drawer in my dressing table.

Bits of using up rissotto. Yum. Unfortunately generated 6 portions from only 200g rice so lunch tomorrow and 2 to freezer.
Had a fairly black banana with Custard for dessert. Another one and some more Custard left for tomorrow.
To come out tonight - 2 lots of chicken sausages for lentil and banger stew tomorrow night and a large breakfast bake Sunday morning. Again both of these will generate multiple freezer portions:D
I feel like I'm going round in circles and there is never any more room in the freezer:mad:
I will take out a soup for lunch on Sunday, and a pasty for DH for lunch. He's at home all of next week so I can use up lots of bits as he won't need sandwiches he can eat on the move.
Small steps. I haven't bought anything to add for 6 days:rotfl:Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

Stick a few surplus pillows or cushions in your freezer or an old crumpled up blanket if you have one to fill some of the empty freezer space0 -
Out of freezer
Lunch;- left over turkey soup from yesterday, tea bread cake for DH satsumas for me.
Tea:- small piece of not labelled meat which turned out to be beef. I didn't want to casserole it and it seemed too small to roast so put it in the slow cooker well wrapped in foil. I've never cooked that way before but it turned out great, no loss of size, really tender and flavoursome. I'll be doing it that way again.
veg:- beans out of freezer, rest out of fridge. Used up the last enormous bramley apple with greek yogurt for pudding.
Into freezer:- nothing.
I went through the freezer which is under the fridge in the kitchen. I use it for all my bits and bobs - half opened packs, leftovers, the odd bread roll etc. I think it's going to be next on the list to try and use up its contents.0 -
Used up a pint of ice cream this evening.
It was one of those days!
I have wraps and an avocado and half a dozen eggs that need eating this weekend. Will probably bake as well.0
