Feeling better tonight, those anti-b's are starting to kick in :j A good job as work is busy and the work 'to do' list is getting added to quicker than I am crossing things off!

My Reg Saver pot is full :j Just the month to go and see how much interest it has earned :) and hopefully if the counter staff are correct, I can open a new one this time next month.

Pooh Pension transfer value and paperwork arrived in the post today, taking only 7 days rather than the 21+ they quoted :j. It's growing at a rate of £1k per month where it is judging by the annual statement, the figure the IFA got and this latest letter. Confused-dot-com as to what to do next :o

    Other financials:
    - personal and business bank accounts checked - first new business phone bill is in and a good saving there, plus a credit to come from the old plan
    - geo lotto up at £1.92
    - Inbox pounds £11.82
    - Qmee still 38p
    - another pre-lim survey from P!necone in which often leads to the paid one

Did a quick freezer shop tonight as low on a few bits - £6.56 spent and the 2 x 20p's in the change make up a £10 bag ready for banking.

Hope everyone's had a good day and it's onwards to the weekend :)

Thanks Alex - and good to read your bit in the DFW 10 year forum anniversary piece in Martin's email the other week :)

Another day, another dollar and back to the routine of food shopping on an evening - spent £23.13 tonight and nothing special to show for it, though happy to have a full fridge, freezer and cupboard. :)

First world problems today included no cold water after a burst main locally, fortunately enough for our cuppas this morning though and it was running again tonight. Internet has also been very slow, confirmed by the ISP's message of 'engineers working on it' on their website...thank goodness for mobile phone data!

    Financials then:
    - bank account checked - nothing gone out today, but got those 50p's and 20p's to bank tomorrow
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Qmee - yielded another 11p so pot at 49p which I've cashed out to Paypal
    - Geo Lotto - the free games are ending next Monday :( and minimum withdrawal is £5, so my now £2.15 is stuck. They are offering to match a £5 deposit to use in their new 1p game, so I might do that. I'm not the gambling type, but I would say the odds are in favour of getting to above £5 in winnings, so a small earner eventually :)
    - Inbox Pounds - up a little again at £11.88

A check on our summer holiday details and I've spent an additional £46 on booking allocated seating for the flights. Didn't want us ending up separated on the plane, though DS might take a different view :rotfl:

Think that's all the news here, hope everyone's had a good day :)

    Thanks, Ali. :)

It seems it's my turn to be a bit under the weather this evening.

I think I may need your pet insurance advice again as my cousin's dog is having puppies and she's offered me one. My son doesn't know yet but is still obsessed with the idea of us having our own dog (and horse ).

Sorry you're not so well Alex, hope you pick up again soon :)

It's a phase wanting a dog/horse/other pet, wait until he asks for a sibling  :rotfl:

I'm sure there's probably a section on the site for pet insurance, but if you're looking for 'lifetime' cover (ie. an ailment that the insurers continue to pay out for year after year, there's only a couple of providers I think - PetPlan usually known as the top one but also the most expensive. One of those pay for what you get.

I've had good deals with Sburys (12 months for price of 10) and GreenBee (John Lewis with good lifetime cover). I've stopped insuring mine for these middle years, but will have to think about growing a separate pot of money as vet costs are extortionate for anything and everything. :)

I'll be OK. There seems to be a lot of illness going around at the moment, my son has not been very well for a few days.

He's always been mad about animals, so I'm not sure whether it's a phase or not with him. I think I'd quite like a dog myself, anyway.

As for him asking for a sibling, he decided to ask me where babies came from in Spain, in front of my parents. After a conversation about how if a married couple each pray for a child, sometimes God grants their wishes, he wanted to know why a child from nursery only had a mother. Sometimes, I think he's far too bright for his own good. :rotfl:

I will have a look on the main part of the site. :)

My cousin pays a lot for pet insurance but seems to think one dog won't be too expensive. A part of me doesn't know whether to just pay the vet bills when / if. It often seems I've far too many insurances as it stands, always something to renew.
