Ring Sky and tell them you want to cancel, I bet they offer you a better deal
How are you getting on with the soap nuts? I did try them once, but wasn't overly impressedPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Brogden - I feel your pain and will try Skinny's suggestion. Last time I did that they were quite happy to say goodbye to me  I think it's because we have a fairly cheap package so not a big loss. Did it with my Mum's (she loves watching sport too but not footie!) and got her half price for a year.
EE - That's great to know about Bisto Best and yes, the GF packet was expensive. Definitely less bloated and happier bowels in under a week leaving gluten out. Doing it in conjunction with a thyroid friendly diet as well, but there's a conflict with dairy, which generally I tend to find doesn't agree with me. I started pro-biotic drinks 18 months or so ago and bloated on those really badly as well.
Trial and error I think - and plenty of filtered or bottled water
Skinny - haven't tried the soap nuts yet, will report back when I do some more washing at the weekend.
Mum is brighter in herself though still not on solid food, is very weak and mostly still in bed. This medicine (strongest and the third course) has helped but not cleared it. She's also stillin alot of pain. GP seeing her tomorrow for next steps.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Update on the TV package :j It's good news :j
Increased by £1.25 September 2014 to £23.75 - I sucked it up
Increased by £2.00 May 2015 to £25.75 - Nooo way Jose
Decrease by £10 April 2015 to £15.75 with immediate effect for 10 months but on a new 12 month contract.
Gives me time to wean DS off the remaining channels he watches onto Freeview :rotfl:
Ooh that's a nice saving to the budget for a while.
What else can I chop...electricity - £2 a month saving coming up for the switch plus £17 cashback. That'll pay for the increased council tax so cost neutral there.

Weekly food shop completed at A!d!'s and spent £26.28. Quite pleased given the amount of fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat and a few swapped items to leave out the gluten.
Meal plan in place and here starts the swapping out of tea for hot filtered water with lemon to lower fluoride intake.
A bit of spreadsheet fiddling on the budget to change Sky and electric figures should free up a bit more to put into the TT pot or add to the capital mortgage payments, though the plan to double my contribution to my personal pension whilst paying into the Regular Saver means things might be on the tight side next month (as well as not having a full month's income from being on holiday).
I changed my mind on the electricity move after some more research and am staying with my current supplier but moving onto a new cheaper deal which will take effect from 1st May.
As I'm @ £100 in credit, new payment will be down from £41 to £31 per month from next month. They did suggest £28 but I've decided to err on the side of caution and see how we go. Can always change it down again. Amazed how much we've cut our electricity use too from October 2013 to now. :T The LED bulbs have pretty much paid for themselves in 14 months and DS is good with switching lights and items off at sockets. All my shoving the OWL meter in his face has sunk in. I recommend this tactic

I'm rather disappointed to find that Ali-OK, the frugal queen, has Sky TV but equally smug to realise it's something that I don't pay for with no TV in this household. However, I still have failed to change my expensive utilities.
As for the election, I keep up to date with it but am becoming somewhat disappointed with the constant repetition of the same phrases.2018 totals:

Bisto is deff vegan. Vegan kids and their much more vegan ohs allow me to buy it. I blame the parents. Leaves handy hint. Gets coat. Says on way out ppl died to get the vote. Men, women both. Best thought about and used. I switch it off when I don't want to think about it. Bored is a first world problem. Sorry, said with love xI have borrowed from my future self

Ali, sorry mum is not well. Mine too. Leaves a person sad and anxious, but it's one of life's challenges and all will be well, as a wise person once told me. No reason not to have sky though, if budgeted. Doubt we are at one on where the country should go, but sending human best wishes xI have borrowed from my future self

I too am very bored of all of the election stuff......indeed I was bored of it before it even got started
.
Dansmam is celebrating the right to vote but I do not value it at all and will certainly not be voting.......I simply do not want anybody to think that I could ever have the slightest bit of belief in them  . I am perfectly relaxed if they want to take away the right for men to vote!!
The right to vote is a little like the right to enter a shop. However, upon entering the shop all of the items for sale look rather shoddy and do not look as though they could be trusted to give good service.

Hi Ali
Am surprised certain people dared show their faces let alone left narky comments once again taking the hump at things no-one even alluded to in the original posts. Amazing the amount of wind up merchants on here.
Am keeping abreast of election stuff, but try to keep myself out of the discussions as MIL & FIL have the combined IQ of an egg and drive me insane. Not watching debates. 2 hours wasted listening to them wind each other up while not saying very much about their own policies! Broggers, I agree muchly, none of them look very promising but I am going to stick to the sensible option
Yay for the Sky deal, what fab news. They have been hit hard by BeeTee but are fighting back so that's why they will happily give you a deal. Am glad it worked out well for you!!
Let me know how you get on with the soapnuts, am much intrigued. Sorry for quiet recently. Been a bit of a stressful one. Hence not suffering idiots gladly, here or on the book of face. Not calling you an idiot by the way lol ;)xx
