Busy busy as ever since you got back. How exciting for Dalig@s. they sound wonderful. I may have to switch allegiances next time around ;)

I am so sorry to hear about your mum lovely. She sounds like a total battler to have got this far, but awful to hear that :( crossing everything she continues to fight.

Hooray for the missed DD being in your favour :) happy birthday to your nephew for yesterday :D and did you hear back from the IFA? :D xx

Lilt - IFA is back to see me on 22nd April, haven't got any figures or further info from him as yet. I'll have to do a 'Leave it with me' on the day ;)

D@ligas are a world apart (in a fab way :D) from any other utility supplier I've come across :T

Thanks for good wishes for Mum too. I need to get over there somehow tomorrow as news tonight is a further worsening and being bedridden. She'll not be at Sunday's party now, which she'll be gutted about :( . I really need to be able to drive to help out

Not much else to report tonight, dishwasher cycle completed and kitchen all clean and tidy. Usual weekend chores to do, plus I forgot to bank DS's Easter cheque and cash he received, so will pop up and deposit that in the morning.

Whatever does Graham Norton look like with that beard?

Sorry to hear the news about your Mum, Ali. :( Though I'm pleased to hear you are getting on well with the finances as usual even if chasing utility bills may just be taking it a little too far. :rotfl:

This has reminded me that I should do something about mine, I still haven't even though it was a while back that I did the initial comparison.
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

Oooh ;) you could always ask to go to the loo and PM me the name of the pension provider. :rotfl: imagine if you went to the loo and came back and said... why did you not recommend I go to X or X?? :rotfl:

Alex lol you're right, chasing utility bills is a bit mad ;)

Fingers crossed you get to see your mum tomorrow hun. Sending all my love and best wishes for her... xx

  • Honey try practicing whatever relaxation techniques work for you whenever you can. Like you say, you need to be able to drive at present so can't afford to get stressed and bring on any health probs. if that means parking some MSE stuff or work stuff, do it where you can. Best wishes to both you and your mum.

    Thinking of you today Ali...

INOD is right, you do need to concentrate on relaxing and trying to keep yourself as well as possible at this stressful time.

Thanks everyone and Step Up am so sorry to hear that your Grandma has it too :(

Still not been able to drive today, can't take the risk with the vision issues, but Mum managed a few words on the phone and said the windows have stopped moving around . I've a lift over there for the morning :)

In the meantime, I've spoken to the opticians and have an appointment next Wednesday afternoon. Need some more of the drops he gave me and want him to have another look at my eyes.

I'm making some changes to my diet too as I'm no further forward with the other symptoms and it won't do any harm (except to the budget possibly). I'm going Gluten-Free to start with and see if it makes any difference over the next month or so. Small steps and all that.

Lilt - :rotfl: IFA will think I'm well odd taking the laptop to the loo!

And no utility bill chasing today either :rotfl: Just washing and another birthday sorted, some flowers bought to take to Mum tomorrow and getting DS's kit and school bags ready for Monday, so it's less of a rush when we get back tomorrow evening.

I'm pacing myself with work, have got plenty to be getting on with but it'll have to fit in with me and not the other way round. :)

I've also been eyeing up soap nuts on Am@zon which cost @ £9 with delivery. Can't decide whether to take a punt even though reviews are great. But when it comes to business decisions they're much easier it would seem and I've ordered a £250 (on offer) Ultrabook (convertible mini laptop/tablet thing). Much smaller and lighter for portability and a keyboard that has letters on it - mine have worn away over the years  but I can touch type so it's not been a major problem.

Overall, a spendy day then :o

    Other financials:
    - Inbox Pounds is up at £9.10
    - Qmee has 25p in the pot
    - £co are sending me 48p cashback
    - Bank account checked and all ok there
    - Nectar I need to log in and look at
    - FreePostcodeLottery checked - that's now at £100 lowest plus there are extra draws to check against. How it's grown in the past year :)
    - P!necone - prelim surveys received and completed x 2, so fingers crossed I'll get a £3 one soon
    - Mortgage Interest letter arrived - same figures as I got from online but I did file it immediately :T My home study still needs a major sort out :o

Going to put away the dry washing and chill out for the evening.

Ooh, a monthly update to my Savings total too - up at £8,773.82. Shall update sig!

    OMG to the soap nuts!!

I was doing the exact same thing with probably the self same ones.. although there is another website which has a kilo bag and 10% cashback on it.. so I was going to go there. free delivery too.. ;)

dfw casually mentioned them in her diary the other day. She hasn't bought soap powder in over a year! the bag has lasted her forever. I was sceptical but the reviews are great and she seemed to love them. I thought they might be worth a try but then dad said he had bought me 280 washed of my small and mightee non bio so I have shelved it for a bit ;)

Yay for the savings total :D:D well done!

That notebook sounds a bargain missy and all tax deductible eh. :) You need to move with the times and these tablet/computer combo things are pretty awesome so I have heard. I went with the mac because I cannot for the life of me work windows eight. So dumb :p

Glad your mum seeming a bit better. Hope you get over there tomorrow and she continues to improve. xxx
