small things add up
Heading off to the lava fields and volcano top today. DS now classed as an adult for trips so that's cost more than I expected, but we shopped at the local supermarket last night and have made our lunch to take with us.
Wi-fi is sporadic, so it's early morning or late night drops in here - with a nice cuppaBack on the DFW Wagon:

All sounds very exciting!! And 56p saving is not to be sniffed at
Hope you have a fab day out. I have never been to a volcano and would love to go. In fact I want to go to Pompeii, as I was always obsessed with that as a childnot very active these days

The volcano used to be exciting.

Morning peeps
I'm back!Access was mostly thwarted by poor internet - the financial loss was missing out on a P!necone Research survey for £3  (and possibly not being invited to the next few) and not adding probably @ 20p to my Inbox Pounds pot.
Luckily, wi-fi was good in the lobby area whilst waiting for our pick up, and on downloading emails the one from TT was in - managed to pay that on line with my debit card to obtain the 10% speedy discount. If I'd have left it until I got home, would have missed out on that - saved £2.63 :j
The upside to that £900 mortgage payment whilst away paid off hansomely as the interest figure for the month is in - so the update there:
April interest down £2.77 on last month, a nice 9p lower per day than last month, bringing it down from 31/12/13 to date by £39.69 per month :T. Payment shall be £370.65 - 60p less than I predicted.
I did a clear out on the laptop of what I thought was no longer needed stuff before the hols, which unfortunately included the automatic huge mortgage spreadsheet  so I'll need to find, download and repopulate that. I've still got my 'home made' one which is more a tracker than the 9/10 year plan.
Other 'free money' was £12.92 interest received from the Club Lloyds £5k current account. Too late to send across to the ISA, so shall be looking for a new one next week, but does keep the current account as close to £5k as I can get it, what with the extra spending before the holiday.
Email from IFA came in - Pooh-dential were definitely pooh, having taken 6 weeks to provide all the information he needs to come back with his proposals, so just need to organise to meet up and get hold of that info before hopefully making a decision where to move the pension pot too.
Left over Euros amounts to half what I took, so that's been put away for our summer holiday. Also grabbed a bargain of a Clarins Cleanser/Toner 2 x 200 pack (my weakness) that was £14 - less than 1 bottle over here :T
Washing machine is on non-stop at the moment and with such gorgeous weather here, first load is already pegged out
Our flight whilst leaving pretty much on time was a different aircraft than planned, so there's a refund for the in-flight meals paid upfront to come back, even though they provided everyone with a free hot main meal, coffee and water, they couldn't provide their normal full service.
With the Sterling change, I've now got £20 in £2 coins to bank as well, so a job for tomorrow.
DS is having his Easter-Egg fest today and we've both got some money from my Mum, so a bit more to bank
Both doglets have been in fine fettle whilst away, still to settle up with friend - a job for this week.
Quite an MSE week even with the holiday, so overall very happy, relaxed and hoping to tackle a bit of the front garden later and top up the bit of tan I have
Hope everyone is well and I shall aim to catch up with diaries today too
PS. Volcano (or 'Fire Mountain' as it's known) trip was fab - saw them barbequing meat for the restaurant from the heat of it, as well as 3 demos of the heat emitted from it from the gravel on top, putting water down hole and watching the head of steam shoot up and putting straw in a hole and seeing it catch itself on fire. Incredible!Back on the DFW Wagon:

A combo of lots of good money news to report and the holiday definitely did me good. A few health issues whilst away - visual aura, couple of bad headaches and some feeling hot/cold issues, but the latter might have been a bit too long in the sun (did 4 hrs one day, 2hrs on others)
Still, am well stocked in Vitamin D now, so no need for supplements of that. That's an MSE saving I reckon :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

So lovely to have you back!! Amazing trip to the volcano. I would LOVE that!!! Have watched videos of a bloke walking on molten lava (the *right kind* apparently) and would just love to experience it all... One day! Bucket list!!
As for Pooh dential... In defence of them (am I saying that?) it takes me no more than 1 week from the date you have signed a letter of authority allowing access to your accounts for me to provide everything down to the last bit of interest, bonuses for each year, every fund it can be in, etc etc etc on ANY account.. Even Guardian or other such closed pension companies who only caretake their old business and have NO information without a manual calculation can give you info in 15 working days on paper through the mailboxSo don't let that IFA bullsheeeeet you, he could have done it a LOT quicker. Would be very interested to know where he would like to put your money though
As for the rest!! It is incredible to see those OP's mounting up each month. I am so impressed at the interest you are saving! And jealous of the interest you got on your savings this month tooI got £15 on my savings but that included £5 Mr Hal reward
I tried to be quiet for youdid you see?! :rotfl: xxx
