Oh poor springy... I hope he is feeling much better! Poor little dude.

Re your eyes, are they heavy lidded or actually filled with a bit of extra fluid like a reaction to something? Mine are near constantly like it and I have to take antihistamines to be able to open my eyes properly is what made me think about yours. Maybe a reaction you don't know about?

Hope you are feeling good and drinking much tea this evening. Much love xx

AlexLK THANK YOU! Yes, precisely... we should be covering our own fare into old age for sure! I find it infuriating that those people that do save up for such however, end up paying taxes that cover those who didn't and both live in the same relative state of comfort, just one has paid for it and the other got it because they had not saved.

You're right there Skinny, it's like having a baby where you learn their looks/cries/movements. Springy is still poorly tonight :( Took him to the vets at tea time. She can't find an obvious blockage but his temp is up and he was a bit dehydrated. A painkiller injection and medicine injection, electrolyte pack and a course of antibiotics later, he's home and resting.

Back to vets tomorrow afternoon if no improvement as it could be x-ray time :( I'm also £94 worse off  It could be pancreatitus though, apparently Springers are more prone to it and he's certainly having some of the symptoms. He's currently curled up asleep bless him :)

As concerning, is what happens if he's still poorly by time we're due to go on holiday. Am hoping my DB can take over and have him. Know some might cancel their holiday, but I really need the break. Difficult until I know more really.

Lilt - eyelids aren't puffy, they just sit a bit lower than normal (part over the iris), in fairness they're even now, as after the head trauma a few years back, the left one went a bit lower on its own :rotfl:

I've had my blood tests today too :j. GP swiftly returned my call, forms prepared and collected, followed by no queue at the hospital - all done and dusted within an hour. Fantastic :T Results will be back at surgery in 48 hours, in time for Friday's appointment. Good work NHS :T

Tomorrow is going to be an expensive day too. Reflexologist, dentist and possibly vet again. I'm watching my bank account with a little dismay, but needs must and my and doglets health are important :)

Holiday stuff is getting there - piles of everything out. Takes me forever to decide what to take though :rotfl:. Must do a check against list.

Very sad about the Alps plane crash, RIP all who were on board :(

    Evening Diary :)

Today has flown by, but fitted a fair bit in. Had a very late night looking after Springy - was syringing electrolyte mix and wetting his gums to try and rehydrate him. He looked so poorly and would not move :( Eventually, things improved slightly and we both got some sleep. He has improved today and we're over the worst though he's still in some discomfort when walking. He's taken his tablet meds and I walked him on lead.

Friend is going to move in and look after both doglets for our holiday, think Springy be better recovering at home and its near our vets.

Had my reflexology session today at £33 and she's worked on brain, spine, hips and hormone related areas. Painful feet today!

Saw dentist about the wisdom tooth and yep, it's a problem. Needs to come out, so got to look at when as it'll be a week off work I think. Might add it onto summer holiday and take a longer break in one go. Financially need to plan for it. No charge for today though.

Packing pretty much there now, just the bits (I think) that I can't pack until the same day. :)

Early night for me - got some sleep to catch up on :)

Sorry to be cheeky about late nights on MiT's thread - I felt guilty when you have been burning the midnight oil to care for doglet :o

    You're a Florence Nightingale for doggies :)

On a more cheerful note........not long to go :D

    Afternoon Diary

Having a quick break between finishing up work stuff and finalising bits for the holiday, so a good time to catch up in case I don't get chance later. :)

A No Spend Day yesterday, badly needed on the back of alot of spending this week. Long work day though getting home @ 9pm, DS and dogs were catered for.

Springy is back to full bounce :j still not sure of the issue, but since he's back in fine form on his usual food twice a day, suspect he ate something he shouldn't have done. With friend staying to looking after both and no cancellation charge at the kennels, there's an instant saving of £338, of which I've earmarked £100 to friend for house/dog sitting and any needed bits (will square up when home).

It's pay myself day for the month plus expenses, so bank account and budget all balance nicely with that £900 capital mortgage payment ready to go on Monday. I'm taking my laptop on hols, as rather than keeping a handwritten spending diary in Euros (I have been doing this since 2006 too!), I can do it on here with the free hotel and in-room wi-fi :D. Can't stay away ;)

It's GP appointment in an hour and hopefully will get latest blood test results. DS is currently in the bath having had today off due to teacher training, I've rounded up more bits and pieces for packing and think it just leaves gadgets and chargers. So many these days

Mobile readied for international use and bill cap raised for those just in case texts/calls for family/dogs.

Apart from the spare bed to make up and a quick run around of tidying/hoovering, I've put last load of washing from airer away and done the elec and gas readings. Elec one had to be submitted for the bill next week anyway.

Feeling reasonably well, eyes a bit dodgy and neck/shoulders very tight. Touch wood (touches head ;)) no panic attacks or visual migraines with half body odd effects :T

And following the dreadful revelations from the plane crash, our carrier is changing their cockpit policy from tomorrow.

Lots to do, including printing travel insurance  Forgot to do it with all the other paperwork :o

    Happy Friday everyone :D
