Yep, and when they say they earn over £50k in their own thread and moan they don't have a pay rise, they're bound to garner a reaction. They also don't read posts properly or background or much else. Hope they took their own advice and got their coat
Even funnier, when you read their post on Robin's thread talking of colleagues on a years maternity leave - the very same thing they denied took place on my thread when Lilt brought it up as a perk of public service workers.
Not worth it - I thanked their posts here out of erm..courtesy or laziness, not sure :rotfl: Time to report?
I see she has updated her post 'to be clearer' and has deleted the part about her work colleagues now.
Damn - I should have quote her then she couldn't have hidden from it:rotfl:0 -
It's interesting to understand others points of view as to why you vote/not vote, so thanks for sharing and I'm learning a thing or two along the way.
INOD - That doesn't keep your vote confidential does it by needing your NI number to vote? Though all the papers here are numbered, as is the card, so I am not sure we have anonymity either.
Molly - Lovely to see you and what great weather you've had for the holidays. Thanks too for the good wishes, be glad when these particular tests are over.
DS walks around everywhere reading his book. Does get some looks especially in town! Yes, on a scooter would be very difficult!
Happy 12th Birthday to DS :j Sure the years go faster
Great to hear DH's payday is coming up and you're chomping at the bit to get debt-busting. Once you're on your way, it'll soon be gone and you've done so well to manage through it and working too.
EE - Interesting! Best to probably ignore, my letters are already worn off my keyboard, I'll be through the plastic trying to keep up with a keyboard warrior otherwise :rotfl:
Been quite busy here and realised I have a good amount of energy and little brain fog today :T So much so I am going out tonight. It shouldn't cost money and I've got a bottle of Xmas pressie wine that I can take
.
Soap nuts have been used and the washing has come out clean, albeit it doesn't seem to have that smell associated with detergents. But they work and I'm happyEven DS's school shirts came out as good, so they do seem to shift grimy teenage dirt

Leaves DS's shirts to iron and rest to put away. Housework still to do, but there's always tomorrow - the one that never comes :rotfl:
Better do dinner and ready to go out thenHave a lovely evening all, should still be light @ 8pm I think with the sunshine

Hope you had a lovely evening Mrs and you are enjoying some R&R today!
I don't know if I could cope with washing that didn't have that detergent smell. I have been sniffing my top all day as it smells so fresh... Maybe I could use softener with them? Hmm

Evening all
Is it really 24 hrs since I went out for the eve  Lovely time had, no spends and lifts both ways. Perfick
Up too early for a Sunday but with energy again :j <--- I really was like this :rotfl:.
Lilt - I know exactly what you mean with sniffing :rotfl: I did alot of it yesterday. Soap nutted clean clothes smell of...nothing! My usual detergent is Bold 2in1 so has the conditioner and I love the smell, but you don't need conditioner with soap nuts, they are as soft without it. So I am leaning towards putting something smelly in the drawers and wardrobe. Pomander, lavender bag, scented drawer liners maybe.
Pleased with progress today, as easily could have sat on my backside and done nothing at all
- Bits ironed, all washing put away
- Kitchen cleaned and tidied, hand washing up done, floors steam mopped
- More spreadsheet fiddling and as the month is progressing better than predicted for work (and better than this time last year) I've set up a mortgage capital payment of £920 to go on the 29th.
- More work done!
- Long email written and sent to Headteacher re: Friday and DS
- New list madeas I'm starting to remember to write things down again
A couple of MSE related things happening as well. My business mobile phone is now out of contract and I need to decide what to do there. Phone and plan are fine, it's the cost, so need to shop around and also check coverage if I move provider. I don't want 4G and most seem to have gone onto that but we don't have it locally
One thing I've been reading more about on here and researching is Investing. As if by magic, an invitation to a free 90 minute seminar locally arrived in the post. I am considering attending. I understand the concept and the risk, but for the life of me get totally lost when it comes to choosing funds or companies to manage or bonds, guilts, stocks and everything else. My brain just won't interpret the detail and I don't think I have the patience. I am thick :rotfl: But I think it's where I should be looking.
Tonight is R&R, get DS's bags ready for tomorrow and hospital letter in my bag. Read local newspapers and then put in recycling.
It's been a NSD, but the car needs fuel. I was planning on Sbugs with the 10x points, but they put it up on Friday by 1p so more expensive than Morries. I can wait until Tuesday I think - they usually put it down again by then. It's a weekend thing they do for profitBack on the DFW Wagon:

Nice mortgage payment Ali :T
Shouldn't your IFA be helping you with the investments? No point paying an IFA and barking yourself.......so to speak
Broggers x0 -
Thanks Broggers though the amount could change between now and the 29th so not getting too excited yet
Good point on IFA, though as Lilt already pointed out he blamed the Pension Provider for the 6 weeks it took to get figures - let's see if I feel he's right for the long haul when I meet him again for his 'advice' this week. No payment made to him either - I thought all IFAs were fee paid only now too, can't remember what the deal is with him though. On my list
Newspapers now read and in the recycle bin. DS's stuff ready. Hospital letters ready.

Am hoping so, this will tell us what the nerve endings are up to. I'm going to be lightly electrocuted :eek:You and me both, though I've only a pathetic £5,000 to invest.
To you maybe, to most others and me that's a good sum to put in for 15-20 years and get a decent return on. Plus if I can set up something that is a regular investment amount (akin to a reg saver) it'll all build over time.
Don't think the FTSE 100 is the place to start though - reading it's over-inflated and elections and new governments for that matter, do funny things. So aim is 6-9 months away for starting.
Failing that, it's continue with ISA-land and maybe the Spanish Bank's 1-2-3 account. I do understand thoseBack on the DFW Wagon:
