The march to financial freedom

Hey, lovely to see you here Midgie - thanks for popping in.
Well, I found a third money-saving bill of £5 a year today! I didn't realise that paying TV license by quarterly DD was more expensive by £1.25 a quarter. I've emailed them and asked to change it.
I've also increased the CC payment again for tomorrow by £15 to £370, to give a nice round £3,100 left in current account at end of Jan. That'll probably change as the weeks go by though!
Further research into the flight delays on the forum probably means we can't claim anything as it was a fault with a Boeing part (I think). We were told by ground staff in an update that the engineer was talking to Boeing in the US...so I think that might be a lost cause. Any views anyone?
Similarly for our flight out - our delay was 6hrs and 20 mins due to a door seal issue as well. Ashame as 2 people x 2 comp claims for over 3 hrs would have been a welcome extra.
Applied for my Boots Advantage card online, so that's all done.
The kitchen clear out and clean is finished :j Bonus finds include a breadmaker that has been hidden away for goodness knows how many years with the instructions inside it. Will need to buy ingredients for HM bread and rolls and will do that on a low grocery spend week.
The food cupboard is looking fairly empty now. I've had corned beef sandwiches for lunch and tea yesterday and lunch today :rotfl: There's still lots of that left which I might do with mash tomorrow night and brown sauce. Yum.
Slow cooker has been on all day with beef stew and whilst DS decided he wanted yesterday's planned chilli for lunch and tea, I did dumplings for me tonight. I think I might freeze the rest into batches once it cools.
DS's school stuff is ready - let's just hope the alarm clocks go off on time and I can get him out of bed. Back up plan is to send the dogs in to his room. Let's hope we don't have a wet and windy start to the day.

Just a quick hello from me Ali, I'm back to school tomorrow so won't be on here as much, just reading the morning update before I drag myself out of bed!! I'll be reading and cheering you on, even if I'm not posting much.

Glad you got those points - bit sneaky of them, as sure I checked tea time and they weren't there then!

Very busy proper first day back working which was all good.
GP visit resulted in a flu jab and 2 prescription items, both I had to pay for  a big spend of £15.70.
Whilst in SB (where the pharmacy is), I managed to get Basics coffee and Basics bourbon biscuits - both have been out of stock for a couple of months. Picked up porridge, milk and suet as had run out of those and having forced myself to eat up the porridge DS wanted last month, I quite like it. A spend of £4.34, paid with £4 Luncheon Vouchers from doing P!necone Research surveys and 34p cash. That's more like it
Ooh and 8 Nectar points
Day 3 of corned beef sandwiches for lunch achieved :rotfl:
Matalan order arrived so I've picked that up and the candle stock is looking goodTons of bubble wrap, which will be perfect for eBay parcels.
Financials:
bank account checked and CC2 now £370 lighter :j Sig updated
Nectar adpoints - still showing last week's points and nothing new. Seems a few others have experienced this from the thread on Up Your Income too.
Nectar card - value up to £22.40
Nectar Canvass - email in with new surveys arrived this morning, but bet alot of those have got their quota by now - will find out tonight!
Hope everyone has had a good day. We're both tired here, so aiming for an early night.Back on the DFW Wagon:
