The march to financial freedom

Will have to make my marmalade sandwich to take with me to the cinema tomorrow
but first is my brain scan at 9am. I'm going to park nearby in a local road that has free on street parking to save the horrendous £5.40 parking charge. All that means I'm having another day off of work
but am doing stuff around '9-5' anyway. The upside of SE is being able to flex to suit and being the boss
So today was a busy work day and a NSD. A birthday remembered just in time to be able to second a card 2nd Class. 5 postal Christmas cards have gone too.
DS's schoolbag has got a broken zip to the main section so he's after a new one  It still looks in good condition otherwise, so will see if I can get it back in place first.
Financials:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Nectar Search - 106 points from last month credited and a new month to earn 200 pts/£1 from
- Nectar card - after using alot of points last month but earning a few, it's now at £43.67
- Inbox Pounds - up a tad £2.40
- Qmee - 6p added, now on 34p
- P!necone - points ready to be converted to £3 and move to PP
Still got to put the Christmas tree up here, will aim to do that tomorrow night and dishwasher needs to go on too - we ended up with Spag Bol tonight from a freezer batch because all the plates have been used up and only had pasta dishes left :rotfl: . First time I've known the crockery dictate what we'll be eating :rotfl:
Popping out to see friends locally soon and deliver their cards and presents and eat mince pies and Christmas cake - all home made, though might be a tad sherry laden with her liberal splashings weekly since October :rotfl:
Hope everyone's had a good dayBack on the DFW Wagon:

Ali,
Your mention of "The Spanish Bank" always makes me smile; I hadn't understood why people on here do not mention companies names in full until quite a few months into posting on MSE.
Sorry to hear about the panic attack and hope you get some solutions for your health soon.
Finally, I hope I do not overstep the mark with this last rant but I find it incredibly sad that a grown "man" cannot take responsibility and has destroyed the chance of a good relationship with his own son. In my (very humble) opinion it is abhorrent for a father to choose not to provide for his offspring both financially and, more importantly, emotionally, no matter the relationship with the mother. That a child is denied a father through nothing other than wanton nepotism not bestowed upon the son, as should be, but instead lavished upon himself tells an awful lot about a man. Unfortunately, this seems to be a growing phenomena in modern society, one that I fail to make any sense of.
ETA: Hope you have a good time at the cinema.
Ahh yes, we avoid the names so they aren't listed in the search engines
Thanks Alex - I think you say what many think. As always, devil is in the detail which I'll avoid posting about.
No panic attacks today, but then I've only driven 3 miles at maximum 15mph :rotfl: Christmas shopper traffic is now the enemyBack on the DFW Wagon:

First of all, I need to thank PleaseLetMeBeLucky as I lurk on that thread
but can never find the right words to say how awesome you are with everything you manage and cope with.
The thanks is because I read about Speedy Payments for T@alkT@lk and I'm with them for phone/BB, so today when my bill arrived I looked for the link and yay, paid it to get the 10% discount
The bad news - the Anytime Calls Boost has gone up by £2.50 a month  and line rental will jump up when my pre-paid annual Value Line Rental runs out - seems an industry standard as most have put it up alot
I've had my scan and now await the 2-3 weeks for my next Consultant appointment letter to arrive, which should give a fair indication if there's anything to worry about or not - the sooner the appointment the likelihood they've found something. Didn't have a problem with being so enclosed (been there before with one pre back operation), but got quite dizzy closing my eyes and felt the panic symptoms rising, fortunately managed to keep calm, stop them and the 15 minutes it took seemed like forever. Went braless as realised I don't have one without an underwire :rotfl:
DS revealed he wants to go and see Paddington now  so that means I'll see it twice by looks of things. He's off to see Hunger Games with his friends - which has moved to Saturday daytime (happier about that) and we both want to see Imitation Game. So I can see a run of cinema visits over the coming days.
Got my marmalade sandwich ready for this afternoonaka bottle of water and A!di sweets.
Just completed month end accounts and printed, so there is some work going on here and there. Three weeks today and it'll be the first day of my Christmas break :j

I didn't know that either about using full company names. I do it all the time!! Good that you have had your scan. I am not sure if I could lie in one of those machines. I didn't even like the cat scan one. My friend had to be sedated to ge ther scan done x5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

It took me three weeks cold turkey to give up smoking, first week was hard, 2nd was a killer, third not so bad. Suggest you do it for lent, Ramadan, some time measured length as the mind cannot bear the idea of never smoking again...didn't realise it was such an addictive drug until I gave up...20 years on I dare not have a puff do not think I could do it again...on the bright side, much, richer0

Haven't smoked since last November, but do use the e-cig still which is way cheaper (£3.50 a month roughly), but it's not giving up the addiction I know.Back on the DFW Wagon:
