Hmmm - solar panels..... dont know what are unit price is (OH deals with all:o) but I do know the FIT payment is based on what you generate regardless of what is used so we use all the electric generated and get paid for what we have generated -No gas or oil here either heat with solid fuel in winter we pay £43 every month for electric and are always in credit - electric company even sent people out to check meter!!!!

Friday again and finally a weekend where I'm going to stay home, potter and generally relax - let's see if the plan works out though!

Happily settled in my office now and it would have been 2 consecutive No Spend Days, had EE not sent me a returns bag that I had to pay the postage on  £7.15. They received a phone call and now owe me 4 credits. For that, plus:

    - for when the mast was down for a week affecting my business
    - for DS's returned mobile invoice
    - for my mobile router invoice - as I'm so disgusted with their poor advice and customer service, that I'm dumping them and going elsewhere, so awaiting another returns bag. They seem non-plussed, which says it all after 17 years with the fruit provider.

I've got the 2 new T3sco mobiles on charge at the moment - DS is happy with his so that's him set up for gadgets and independence and I'll see if I can sort a mobile router with them for work.

Enjoyed my therapeutic massage last night, though it was £30 (sure she quoted me £24). Anyhow, the upshot is she thinks I should go back to my Osteo and alternate the treatments as it's not shifting the issue and seems my bones needs manipulating back into place (again). Must book that.

I'm having a stormer of a month in the business and September is looking very good already. Unheard of for August, so much for taking on an office during the usually quiet period :rotfl:. Autumn is usually very busy so let's hope I can start reaping the rewards even after covering the overheads - would do this month excepting the added office expenses and the holiday deposit.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked daily
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar adpoints - only up at 37, but all done
    - Nectar Search - still at 62/100
    - Inbox Pounds - up a little at £11.66
    - Qmee still 33p, nothing new

There's a few purchases still to make - the revised contact lens prescription, reading glasses, taps.

I've started on the weekend housework, so 2 loads of washing done, bins, dishwasher on. The garden needs quite a bit of attention, so plenty to do over the weekend, but with the extra Bank Holiday, I'm going to take it at a relaxed pace. I did have another visual disturbance/migraine come on yesterday with a few of the early warning signs of a panic attack, but managed to get rid of them and the massage left me relaxed, tired and headed for an early night.

Hope everyone has had a good Friday and Happy Long Weekend :D

  • Glad you are doing better. Probably just too much going on with getting office etc. Hopefully life will even out now that you are in and settled.

Brilliant news re holiday. Something to look forward to.

I got solar panels fitted, I don't however own them but whilst they are generating then I can use up to 4kw at any given time and I get it free. I only need to pay when I go over the 4kw or at night and dreary days. I do not get the feed that goes back into the grid as I don't own the panels but I will wait for 1 years accounts and if it is worthwhile buying them then I need to pay £3.5k. I'll decide then and just take my free electricity just now. My meter however has an added £1.21 per day onto it to pay for all the cladding and insulation I got but I have been assured that the savings I make between less gas and electricity will more than cover this. My house is south facing so I should get the best out of the panels that I can. I'm a huge fan of generating our own power so I am very pleased with what I have done
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00

Been lovely to slow down today, stayed at home and pottered. Tidying up all done, ironing, hand washing up done, dishwasher emptied and generally feeling less cluttered.

I caught up on the list of To Do's, well more To Buys unfortunately, though cheaper than buying in town so being as MSE as I can.

    £123.00 AAT Registration and membership
£ 27.94 Amended prescription contact lenses (6 pairs)
£ 5.98 Phone cases for DS and I
    £ 6.99 (after £20 discount voucher I had) - kitchen tap
£ 47.00 Bathroom tap and pop up plug/waste
£ 11.20 2 USB sticks - one for DS for school, one for work for me
£ 6.00 School shirt for DS
£ 17.97 2 Supercases (Pencil case to stationery pot) for DS and I
£ 14.85 Dog ear cleaner - half the cost of the Vet and best one
    £ 33.01 16 razor blade cartridges. They'll last a year hopefully :)

I guess this is what happens when I leave things that are needed eventually - they then all come at once. AAT is obviously a choice with the college course, but a career enhancing move so an investment.

Financials - Usual checks done and nothing new to report.

Really looking forward to the holiday albeit it's 7 months away. Broken up with a Christmas break from work, I'm sure the time will fly by.

Until the solar panel chap comes next week, I'm still not sure on this actual deal and whether it's right for me as yet. MiT, how did you get on with house insurance and the mortgage company with not owning the panels?

Early night for me...going to hit the housework hard tomorrow morning and get that done, then start on the garden. Fingers crossed it doesn't rain - think it's due Monday here though :(

A lovely Sunday and still an extra day off to go. :)

Housework completed this morning and everything I wanted to get done in the front and back gardens all done too - a productive yet relaxed day. Topped by being a No Spend Day as well. Perfect :)

    Financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar adpoints - no more to be done, so ending on 37 this week
    - Nectar Canvass - did try, thrown out of a 20 pointer and just profile updates
    - Nectar Search - completed the 100 for the month
    - Nectar card - value still at £80.53
    - Inbox Pounds - some tasks and surveys taking me up to £12.63
    - Qmee - 11p added, pot now at 44p

Am still deliberating the 0% BT for 18 months offer I have, but think I will do that early September and transfer the remaining £2,600 to it. It's a safety net, one that will cost £76 but that's better than stressing I won't get it paid off before the current 0% runs out in Jan or letting it run past and paying a high interest rate. Keen to hang onto the £5k emergency fund and the Reg Savings pot.

Tomorrow I am heading into town to get the September birthday cards (2). Luckily one of the surveys I did was about greetings card and I'll earn £1 for each I photograph and send in with a few questions answered. A profit in that as I get most of mine in Card Factory. :) I've got 6 to do between now and October.

I've some work prep and emails to do and that should complete a very relaxed and stress free Bank Hols weekend. Happy for it to rain, the water butt is nearly empty and the freshly cut grass could do with a good watering. :)

A bit of spreadsheet fiddling to do as well - thinking the mortgage capital payment will be £835 on 1st September - a large £190 OP in there to keep my 10 year plan on track. :)

I don't know what is wrong with me today, sat here obsessing and drooling over a half price sofa on the DFS website  and Ikea PAX wardrobe for the spare room . Someone tell me NO NO NO !!! :D

I know what it is...half price so be quick or you won't be able to get it and PAX also be quick before they stop doing the colour (they've already stopped the Birch in it). They're hang ups from my teenage years when I saved for something and then it had gone :(

Been to town and bought 2 birthday cards costing £1.28. Parking was more at £1.60  No Bank Hols joy from our local council then :rotfl:

    Financials
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Nectar card - value up at £81.58
    - Inbox Pounds - up at £12.81

I've moved some stuff around in drawers and the wardrobe to find the autumn/winter stuff. My old jeans are way too tight with the spread this past 18 months - I've gone up to a size 10 and it's more hips than waist. Don't really want to buy any clothes, so will try and stick with everything but jeans and see how it goes.

Done bits and pieces for work with more to do a bit later. Just enjoying pottering. Gonna walk away from the computer and find something free to do...online shopping sites are just too tempting right now. :o

:D Something worked as no sofas ordered, DFS or otherwise!

I'd like to furnish the spare bedroom, rather than need to. It's on my mind as we've guests coming to stay next month and then my nephew will be staying over once, maybe twice a week, from September for the next educational year.

Size 10 is slim, ashame my clothes are size 8 though :o 30 yrs and suddenly I've spread out

When sorting out my wardrobe one day my DDs fell on a skirt and a pair of dungarees which I guess would be described as 'vintage' dating from 1980s ;) both clearly marked size 10. DDs at first surprised their mum was ever a size 10 and then appalled that neither of them could get into them - they are both size 8/10:rotfl::rotfl: Made me smile:D
