Hey Chrysalis, its been ages since I sold on [EMAIL="Am@zon"]Am@zon[/EMAIL] so not sure if they've changed the postage, but I got £2.80 for postage for each of them and they both cost £3, so a teeny loss but the actual price paid made up for it - not by much though! But every little bit helps
I did decide not to list a few of my heavier books for that very reason though and it looks like that was the right decision.......I need to scout around for more that will actually make me some money methinks!
Lets hope the sunshine continues, tis glorious!

A super quick update as I was up half the night with DS (great time for DH to be away with work
) so I am planning an early night with a brew and my book - rock and roll!!
Am*z*n earnings haven't hit the account yet, but someone asked about a Buy it Now on one of my £bay sales......I know some people would say hold out as it had a few watchers but I made up a price, she accepted and so I went for it. So that's another £7 to CC1 :T
I've also joined the 1 debt vs 100 days challenge to start on 1st December. The end date is 10th March which is VERY close to baby's due date so it seems like a good amount of time, and it would be BRILLIANT if we could clear the first and most difficult one by then. I know I said we'd ease up a bit during December but quite clearly I'd just gone a little bit mad temporarily - we will continue with the quest!!! Albeit with a bit more tinsel sprinkled around than on usual months
Right off I go, busy day tomorrow so fingers crossed for some more sleep tonight!!

Not quite sure why but I've been thinking a LOT about finances today - even more than usual
This is possibly because me and DH saw our ideal house yesterday (I like to browse the lovely property websites even though there are no imminent plans to move, and I know I'm not the only one
) so at the moment I'm swinging between being even more motivated than usual about things, a bit regretful at not being more sensible in earlier years, and apprehension that if something were to change, say interest rates were to rise a bit, there is every chance we could be in a real pickle
:o:o:o:o
So thoughts are swirling and I can't even have a glass of wine!! aaaargh!!! I'm also thinking about the fact that we need to press on and clear the first CC super quickly, however the next few months are going to be probably the most challenging to us financially - we've got the balance on the family holiday to pay for by April, and the new bubs is due in March so we need a few things there.
To be honest I'm also a little bit freaked out by December, not presents as they're pretty much all sorted within budget but the potential for the plan being derailed and that horrendous out of control feeling that now comes with it. DH has already made plans for different nights out and we are hosting friends quite a bit - its so important to maintain these connections but there is SO MUCH going on at once I have no idea how its all going to work out
:o:o:o:o:o
Phewph!!! Tis all a bit messy thoughts-wise tonight. I think I just need to look at the figures tomorrow as its DH's payday, and try and set some limits for nights out. Its always good to stare at the numbers!!! Then I think it would help to make a plan for next year, I last did this when planning my maternity leave and it was sooooo satisfying.
Yep, battening down the hatches is in order I reckon, actual action is better than all this thinking
Onwards.............. Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
Hey..keep calm and pour another glass of wine..oh you can't! Damn

You'll be fine. Just listen to that horrid I am out of control feeling and acknowledge it and then move on with your baby steps. It's the only way to go. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.
I do think the social stuff is hard. I have noticed that OH has a number of team meals coming up. I mean how many teams is he part of! :rotfl: But he knows he has to be restrained. Getting Df is our main goal at the moment and we have to stay focussed.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Ha! Thanks
The craving has thankfully passed and tonight I'm happy with a cup of tea and a GIANT bar of chocolate while DH embarks on his first night out of the season.
Brizzle - You do sound to be very determined and focused at the moment. DH understands how restrained he needs to be, however we shall see how tonight goes as its a meal and not just drinks. Like you say, it is funny how many work teams and social groups they suddenly become a part of at this time of year!!
And the out of control feeling is subsiding, however I do think baby steps for December is right. I'm just going to take it day by day while still doing as much as I can to help The Situation.
So.........in debt busting news, another book sold on Am*z*n yesterday, posted today with about £5 profit :T
Also, I turned down a meal out with friends next week today. Its easier for me than DH as I see people all the time so don't often feel like I'm missing out if I don't go out in the evening.
My worries about December may have given the impression that I'm a bit down on this time of year, I'm not, I LOVE IT!!!!!! Its all I can do to hold off until the 1st to start with the Xmas icons, and the advent calenders, decorations, lights and all the other gubbins are just sat begging to be put up. ITS NEARLY TIME!!!
I was tempted to put up the decs tonight as a surprise for DH to come home to (that would blow his mind after a few drinkies surely?!) but I was thwarted by the fact that I'm a bit too fat to fit through the loft hatch it seems :rotfl:Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
And.......breathe!!! I'm finally feeling back to normal after my wobble of the last few days

DH had a marvellous night out for a very moderate amount of spending, and today decided that he didn't want to stay away for his party tonight so will be driving home - and therefore not drinking - so costs are minimal. And we get family time in the morning, hurrah!!!
A lovely day has been had here in the sunshine with a walk with DH and DS, some biscuit baking and some Strictly watching
We're attending yet ANOTHER Peppa Pig party tomorrow in a local village hall, and I'm dragging DH along this time. I've convinced him as one of the other dads going is a luxury car brand dealer - I hope this hasn't been a major error of judgement on our DFW journey!! In debtbusting news though, half decent gift and card purchased for £4, marvellous. I will also be shuffling money around as DH's salary will have hit the JA too, so I'm confident productive things will happen there even though I'm working things slightly differently this month.
One more sleep till advent!! Hoping you all have sunshine in your lives :ADebt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
Quick daytime update as DS is having a rare nap, heaven!!
Back on track fully now, but faced with the fact that this month will be heavy with necessary spendy outgoings; as well as the small matter of Xmas we seem to need to purchase a LOT of new stuff for DS - wellies, trousers, waterproofs etc. However I am shopping around, finding discounts, getting cashback etc etc so not too worried at this stage.
Also, after it looked like nothing was going to sell on £bay - there was a flurry of activity and I've made over £21 from things that would just have sat in a wardrobe - overpayment already made, yippee!!! :j
Off to meet a friend after lunch, for a playdate in the local library and then we're off to claim our free hot chocs in the local supermarket, all on foot too
:)
I literally can't contain my Xmas excitement now, Tree Day is Thursday and I don't know how I'm going to wait till then!! :xmastree::xmassmile
But wait I shall, and be contented with the advent calendars and cheesy Christmas music until then
Happy Monday folks, hope things all go your way today x Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
Our tree is shamelessly up so we can enjoy it before we skoot off.

Laughed at you getting stuck in loft hatch, woman, no ladders or loft hatches please.
