Hello..I think if it's stressing you you need to listen to that, you are very close to your DD..you have a lot on and as long as you can pay back the CC1 with savings you should be in no worse position..
Well done on confessing...
we are here to listen

Thanks Brizzle - mainly for not shouting at me
It is very close and anything could happen from now really (although I hope not - in my mind I still have a few weeks to go!), so although it grates to spend on the CC it is the most practical thing at this point.
So its all ordered!! Eeeek!!! New crib for baby, new bed for DS and all the trimmings. I felt a bit lightheaded paying for it online, but immediately transferred about a quarter of the total from one of the piggybank accounts so I could see straight again
It was soooooo tempting on the lovely shiny website looking at all the glorious things that for so long I have been ignoring, but I was very well behaved and ordered just what we needed
After all the excitement of the last half hour, I think I'm going to need a slice of cake - get me to the kitchen!!Debt Oct '13 - [STRIKE]£44,076[/STRIKE] £41,578 5.7% cleared0 -
A lovely day today
First I had a midwife appointment where she said everything is looking good, and DS was an ANGEL throughout. Then two friends and their little ones came round this aft for a play and a cuppa which was fab, and we managed to at least have half a catch up with the kiddies running round!!
The only spend today was £2 on recorded delivery for DH's PPI reclaim forms - no idea if he'll get it but he's giving it a go. The great news for DH is that he's been told he's definitely getting a pay increase, but he has to wait to find out how much. I can see some spreadsheet altering coming up soon
I'm still at it with the surveys, although its just crashed halfway through one so I think I'm going to call it a day before I throw the laptop out the window! Just some spreadsheet tweaking to do before bed.....and of course a bit more eating

Hurrah - another £100 towards the scary internet baby order, so have paid around half of it off now :j I'm sooooo glad we did it this way round as its arriving in a couple of deliveries in the next few days and I feel so much better knowing that we've got that sorted
Another £100 when the next rent comes in in a week (fingers crossed) and then the last portion on DH's payday and we'll be straight - but organised ahead of time. Phew!!
Another early night for me tonight I think after a bit of surveying, I need all the energy I can muster at the moment

Well, I feel a bit cheated by this pregnancy malarkey - the sickness is meant to be at the start, not at the end surely??!! Feeling very tender at the moment so DH has taken DS swimming and I've taken residence on the sofa

Other than that, its been a good few days, albeit a bit spendy yesterday. I went to meet old friends for a spot of lunch and a mooch around the shops in a nearby-ish city, and was VERY restrained. I bought the first present for the baby (most things will be passed down but don't think that'll quite work with the cuddly bed toys!!) and a minimalist lunch, and watched the others shop - mainly from a seated position
Interestingly, as we are all parents of young children and coming to terms with what that means financially, the conversation did turn to debts. One friend owes less than £3K on CCs and is in a state of constant panic over it (she's generally always been brilliant with money), while one owes over £30K and it doesn't worry her one bit. This is what I used to be like until the light bulb hit me in the face, and I wonder whether it will ever happen to her......Anyway, I'm waffling. The point is it made me so glad to be doing my best to sort all this, and gave me a bit of renewed energy to continue.
A 'sorting out' afternoon is planned, moving furniture (well I shall be in a purely supervisory role) to continue with preparations for the new arrival, and HM pizza for tea, so no spends there

I thought of you this afternoon Daisystar! - well mainly the title of your diary,
I was in a cab and looking at all the houses on the posh road on the way home. As it was dark you could see in some of the windows and they do look beautiful. I wondered what it would be like to own one and thought of you and your ski lodge plans.
Really makes me wonder what is possible

thanks XXXNevertheless she persisted.0 -

Thank you Castlelough - I LOVE my big fat goal and it definitely helps when the 'journey' gets a bit more difficult

Ooh Buffy I love nosying in other people's houses, its perfect timing when its just gone dark. In my mind my ski lodge is beautiful, so the aim is to make the reality match that one day
Its been a fairly standard day here today. I had a walk into town with DS as I needed a pump for the huge bouncy ball I'm about to blow up to sit on, and found one for the bargain price of £2! Perfect. Then to enjoy the sunshine we walked home along the river which was gorgeous, and later my friend brought her kiddiwinks round for a play which helped the afternoon fly by
So very low in terms of spendy-ness, and not too energetic which just about sums me up at the minute

Eeeeek to this weather - hope everyone is safe. We are very exposed on the side of a fell but -fingers crossed - appear to be unscathed from the winds although I haven't checked the roof yet. However I'm just watching footage on the news of the town where our BTL is, and if we don't get a call today I'll be VERY surprised, it looks like it was brutal
