Sounds silly but can I watch freeview without an outside Ariel?

I spend £0.00 per year on my freeseeds policy. You continue to waste your £50.

Well, I spent £20 on garlic, and I can't be certain on the rest, but I'm fairly certain the total spend was under £50.

    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

    Oh Yeh..............................
  • I bought a cheap indoor aerial from Argos, and it works very well.

I am upstairs and can see the transmitter from my window though - in fact I can get some channels even without the aerial!

You can definitely watch freeview without an external aerial. I use a digital aerial http://www.tesco.com/direct/one-for-all-sv9305-indoor-amplified-aerial-hd-compatible/164-1525.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=164-1525 with a signal booster. I get more channels through that than through the external aerial on the landlord has placed on the roof.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

If that is the case, then your roof aerial needs re-aligning or repair.

Will a indoor Ariel be any good?

OK, then, I'll be the sucker...

My wife puts Ariel in the washing machine but it doesn't receive any channels at all. ;)

Funnily enough, given the choice between X-factor or a towel load on the spin cycle, I know which is better quality entertainment...

Nobody on an internet forum is going to be able to tell you whether or not an indoor aerial will work in the room you wish.
There is a possibility one will work providing it meets most of the following conditions
1 You are within 3 to 5 miles of the transmitter - depending on the quality of the aerial and the strength of the transmitter.
2 The room has clear line of sight of the transmitter with no close high rise buildings or hills etc in the way. Sometimes if in a high signal area and depending on the construction of your building it may work in rooms on the "wrong side" of the building.
3 The lack of other transmitters in the area on similar frequencies.

So the advice to the OP is if you think you meet these criteria then try one - either borrow one from a friend/relative or purchase from a shop such as Argos that has a returns policy if it doesn't work.

All the posters saying I use one and it works without saying what and where purchased and not quoting any of the criteria above are merely wasting yours and their time.

Also note that there is no such thing as a digital aerial and anyone describing one as such is merely conning people - they are UHF aerials capable of receiving both analogue (although no longer used in the UK) and digital signals.
