Car dented by valet!

I have applied for CCTV footage twice (once for me and once on behalf of an elderly neighbour) and all that required in both instances was to send a "subject access request".
One of the applications cost me £8 and there was no charge for the other one.0 -
When my car was reversed into in a pub car park, the landlady was very helpful regarding CCTV. Fortunately it wasn't even needed in the end as the guy accepted blame with the insurance.0

CCTV has been checked and I've been told it clearly shows that my car was not dented as I entered the car park, unfortunately because of the angle of the camera, it is not clear enough on leaving to see the dent as I go, and the car wash guys are claiming they know nothing about it.
So frustrating because I know for sure that they did it, wow, a £4 car wash really has ruined my week, and my bank account

No you don't. You know for sure it was done at some point between driving into the car park and your parents seeing it.
You just think the car wash people did it as they're the only ones you know where left with the car.0 -

So the dent that you missed getting in on the same side as it was not evident on the CCTV footage that is usually only good enough to get a general description of a criminal.
Sorry if you are genuine but this entire tale smells as fishy as Billingsgate Fish Market.
I just can't get how you walked past this huge dent twice and didn't see it.0 -
To be honest it is possible to not notice.
if they approached from the passenger side and round the front of the car the dent is going to be leg height and you're not always going to see the wing. When getting out of the car if you get out and turn away from it (facing the back) and walk away hitting the remote central locking... you're not going to take a lot of notice of the wing as you're only getting glances at it.0 -

That doesn't change the fact it was very short sighted not to check the car over. If you leave something in someone's care, always check it before leaving.
Hopefully something you'll do from now on.

I am very genuine.
The car is black, so the dent, although big, was not easily seen just as I was getting into my car, and it was also just starting to rain, so I wasn't in a hurry to be checking it all, and then I left the car with my back to it once I had got home (Also, as I said earlier, this was my first time getting it washed, I'm a young female, and i felt rather embarrassed about standing and checking this guys work - silly move, but hind sight is a great thing!)
There was no way I have dented this myself, believe me, if I did, I wouldn't have gone to the effort of posting something like this, I would have just accepted it and dealt with it, but that is definitely not the case!
Another point that makes me certain it is the car wash guy, is that it appears he has tried rubbing down the dent after, as there was a dirty smudge mark over it, that differs from the rest of the clean car. Meaning he has washed it, moved it, bumped it, and rubbed it down to try and hide the scratch with a dirty cloth. This is evident on the photos I took on the day.
I just think the worst thing is that someone could have such a lack of conscience to not say anything and deny it, when both he and I know different. On a car you've worked for for a year on a small wage to save up for, it really stings
Moral of the story - £4 isn't worth saving 10 minutes and costing a lot more - wash it yourself0 -
if it is just a dent though and not a crease, it should be able to pull out. Still money you shouldn't have to pay but it's not too painful on the pocket.0

I can understand how you must feel.
