    Update.

OH now has voicemail active and when I ring him it will go to answer phone. He can retrieve his voicemail by dialling 901 but if he presses 1 on his phone it doesn't work. The voicemail number stored is different to the one you put down there. I've checked mine and DD 02 phones (both Samsungs) and the 3 of us have the same number for voicemail (447802091901). However when I press 1 the number that comes up is different on DD and mine phone, so I deduce the retrival number is different - well I tested this by ringing it from OH phone and he acessed my voicemail.

Mmmm this is well puzzling me now, what would happen if he put the number posted into his voicemail settings ? Make sure he writes down the current number stored in there first just in case he has to put that number back in.

    God I love a challenge !!

People want voicemail? Most people try and get rid of it!

What happens if you put just 901 in the settings?
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

I've just found this on another forum

    Hi,

Under Messages->Voice Messages there is the Voice Mailbox number. If it is not 901 then delete what is in there and input 901 as the number, now when you hold the 1 key it will connect to o2 voicemail.

I dont know if that will work but again I would keep the number that is already in there written down so you can change it back if you need to.

Is this because there is a number stored in speed dial 1?
